Well, Arenas did install a high-altitude simulator in his home. Maybe he has been preparing "all this time" .......

I will already say this is the dumbest rumor I have ever heard, and there is no way in hell Washington would even consider looking at this trade.

1)Arenas is an expiring contract so we would clear somewhere around 18 million if we dont keep him..

2) Arenas is a Superstar in this league and the face of that franchise, why would they want Kenyon (Especially when they have Antawn) and Chucky for him?

3) This deal would be too good for the Nuggets and too stupid for the Wizards..

4) No offense but whoever your listening to on the radio who said this probably has zero inside connections to NBA FO's and prolly just had a little too much fun on Trade Checker... The Wizards already said they are keeping Gilbert... This rumor is just flat out stupid and more than likely has zero truth behind it.

arenas is a superstar? I never got that memo. he might have superstar scoring STRETCHES, but his stupidity, low ball IQ, offensive stagnation, and little defensive ability make him a borderline all-star. of course he'd fit perfect with the nuggets squad with those descriptions. . .

did you not see the wizards this year without gilbert? they let the offense run the butler and it was a lot more efficient. sure getting a 30+ year old martin isn't exactly enough to get in return for arenas...but be sure that trading arenas is an option for that team.

and you must be stupid if you think this deal would be perfect for the nuggets...I'm guessing you must've thought that the AI trade was going to take us to title contention, too? we lose our best defensive man-to-man player and in return add less ball movement, more selfishness, and LESS PERIMETER DEFENSE. the key flaw with this nugget defense is that we have too many mismatches and our perimeter players get destroyed by their offensive counterparts. when these opposing offensive perimeter plays get to the paint [at will], we don't rotate...camby goes for the block...and his man is left wide open for an easy basket.

sure arenas provides an extra perimeter shooter...but at what cost? smith riding on the bench again? unselfish perimeter threat atkins being traded?

I'm tired of us getting scorers at the guard position who aren't unselfish enough to run the point and are not capable of defending opposing shooting guards. an arenas trade would just screw up this roster even more than it already is.

ESPECIALLY with an injury-prone nene expected to fill k-mart's role. . .

I seriously doubt this trade would ever happen (terrible for the Wizards), but it wouldn't surprise me if it did. The Nuggets front office is more interested in promoting street ball than in winning championships, and Arenas would fit right in.

Washington will let Arenas walk before they take KMart's bad contract and Chucky Atkins. No way this deal happens.

What crackhead radio are you listening to? Its way too early for deals to go down, and the Wizards would be smoking some serious crack to do this. Not only do they trade away their best player, but they do it for one of the worst contracts in the league.

We would be absolutely (Please Use More Appropriate Word) to turn this down.

Airchibundo... Im not saying Arenas is a good fit for us, in fact he's not, I wouldnt take him with Iverson and Melo... It would be the perfect trade for us though, because we get a major expiring contract that is due up in the summer... We get rid of Kenyon's massive contract... After this trade and letting Arenas go we could build a very solid team around Melo, or we could make a nice offer at Brand, and get something we desperately need. I'm not saying this would be a perfect trade for us because we get Arenas, its because we would be getting insane cap relief and getting rid of Kenyon's awful contract.

There is no way any of this is true though.

I heard Miami wants to get in on the Kmart sweepstakes and offered Wade plus their 1st round pick. The Denver FO is thinking about it, because there is some European kid they'd like to draft.

Where do I get a job on radio? My story is much better!

I like how our resident idiot Peanut (What a fitting name) thinks this trade is terrible for Denver. We get an All-Star guard whose contracts expiring for K-Marts god awful contract. And somehow he thinks this is bad for us?

Yea, I guess you're right. The board already complains that Iverson or Carmelo is constantly shooting. Nothing better than adding another guy who shoots 20+ times a game

Wow..

Did you even read what people say? Denver dumps Kmarts contract for an expiring. A very valuable expiring. This has nothing to do with what comes on the court, but helping the cap and improving the team in the future.

They could always trade him to someone else, to pick up parts better for the team, or just let him walk.

Fair point. Though I don't think this trade has any prayer of going through or even existing, I can see reasons we would try it.

Worst case, Arenas is a much easier player to move around than Kmart.

I would do it even if Arenas was never able to play a minute for us due to injury. Getting Kenyon off the books would be the greatest thing to happen in this franchise since Mutumbo was lying on that seattle floor.....

Ha if this was back in the days Wes Unseld was GM of the Bullets I wouldn't doubt it. But yeah, dumb as all getout. Ya'll would definitely get the better end of the deal and still probably be no better a team on the court. And it would probably drop the Wiz out the playoffs.

And whoever said Arenas is a borderline allstar, I'd have to agree even as a Wiz fan. If Baron Davis didn't make the all star team out there, I wouldn't put it past Arenas not making it. But he's still a stud, and even though there's a contingent out here pushing to move him, I'd hope it's for more than this...

I highly doubt that trading arenas would take the wizards out of playoff contention. they played the vast majority of last season without him and still were a pretty solid team (for the leastern conference). I'd say that they are a point guard (or lottery pick) away from being contenders.

I like the cast of:

SG - stevenson
SF - butler
PF - jamison
C - haywood

the only problems I see with these team is that they settle for too many jumpers. the offense at its best when butler is handling the ball and attacking the basket. thus said, stevenson and jamison weren't great at shooting the 3 ball last year. if they could get a point guard who could shoot the 3 and play defense (while playing unselfish ball), they'd be better than they are now.
