Marcus Haislip

Considering there are no viable back-to-the-basket, post-player PFs via free agency besides Elton Brand, and the trade route is a complete crapshoot, it might behoove the Sixers to get creative in their search for a 4-man this summer.

Not saying this guys is the answer by any stretch of the imagination, but he might be a decent stopgap. Marcus Haislip is a 6'10" banger from U. of Tennessee who was a former lottery pick by the Bucks in 2002. He seems to be doing pretty well over in Europe. Considering some NBA team will probably sign him soon, why not us?

He'd be worth a look.

Bring him to summer camp, and sign him to a couple 10 day contracts.

theres likely to be at least 1-2 spots open on the roster (shav and lou a)
i think it wouldnt hurt to invite an athletic big who can run the floor and finish to camp and see what happens...Haislip,Justin Williams, etc all would be worth a look imo..just to get a few minutes out of off the bench.

Shav Cal Booth and Lou Amudson have no place on the roster imo.

I think King had dude in camp a few years back, and didn't sign him.

Let Jason Smith have those minutes.

I would be all for it, I remember in his draft , I wanted the sixers to get him badly. That is exactly what the sixers should be doing , putting together a team ina very creative manner . Filling in the holes with pieces that fit. Increasing athleticism and Team defense should be our main goal. If we can do that by signing cheaper and hungry talent then lets do it. Another thing I believe in giving young guys like Gerald Green a long hard look. After all how many times was JR Smith moved around and look at him now.

i would like for us to nab Gerald Green if he was cheap enough...i still think he has alot of potential and would be an upgrade over Willie imo.

I wouldn't mind giving guys like Haislip, NBA draftee who's worked on his game in Europe, a shot. It definitely worked for Toronto with Anthony Parker.

HA! really!? he can't even dribble. he cannot create his own offense. hes just quick and has ZERO IQ. Willie is probably the second best player on this team behind Andre Miller in creating his own offense.

Willie Green creates his own offense? I thought he jacks up shots 50 percent of the time.

He takes some ill-advised shots, yes, but he is certainly capable of creating his own offense. Lou Williams might be be better at getting past his defender(although Green is good at this as well), but Green converts more often. He has that pull-up mid range jumper, while Williams tends to go all the way to the basket and gets blocked a lot.
