the premise of a guy with a mic yelling all game is corny in general imo. i
m a fan of the smoke in Boston, it gives the arena a vibe that its a big game.
the main problem though is music going on DURING play. i can see before, after but during?? is it really necesary?

i always thought San Antonio was "special" for their overused music during play. it seems like its never silent in that place and its not because of the fans.

i love the smoke int he garden, it gives the arena an atmosphere and
separates it from every other venue, i don't see the problem...it certainly isn't hurting the product on the floor at all

I actually thought he had improved his game for a few brief seconds, though, not quite to a 15 million-dollar level.

As for public announcers - I challenge anybody to enjoy the amplified ranting coming out of every timeout in Cleveland.

And I don't think that the pyrotechnics are excessive, either. Only misused. Actually, I would argue for more fireworks; a pile for under the seat of the PA tosser, and some for the person that plays music during the game.

In fact, given that pyrotechnics are a reason to go to the game for so many of you (and please, stop me if I'm going too far), perhaps they should consider placing fireworks under randomly selected seats throughout the arena, connected to radio-controlled detinators indiscriminately handed out to patrons at the turnstiles. For example, who among you would refuse a chance to go to Staples Center, watch Kobe Bryant drive the lane for a jam in traffic, and excitedly jump to your feet squeezing the trigger that elevates some guy and his son five feet out of their seats in a flash of light in the upper bowl section? Wouldn't that only add to the excitement, if not boost attendance figures? So what if there's a little bit of a haze?

Personally I think the rims should have chain link nets and be on fire for the duration of the game.

The Boston intros really overdo it. The smoke is ridiculous. Also the New Orleans "Whoo!" chant is the worst thing I have ever heard.
