This is a lateral move at best.

If Orlando wanted Salim they would just sign him. He is a free agent and probably won't be brought back even if some team offers the league minimum.

I rather have Salim personally. Not that it's saying much.

you never know a change of scenery could be good for a player , just ask tracy mcrady when he was traded to orlando , not that i'm saying reddick is anywhere close to t-mac but if it's a lateral move then he can't be worse then what we have already , he could be better.

He is a worse defender. Other than that, its a completely lateral move, but seeing as we aren't going to have Salim...

I'd trade for Redick in a heartbeat. All you got to give up is Salim, the nightmare ? I doubt the Magic would want him though, i mean, I doubt anyone would want him.

I've posted this on the Hungaryan board.

ATL gives: Marvin Williams, Solomon

ORL gives: Arroyo, Redick, 2008 first rounder (Hibbert)

After that trade:

Bibby/Arroyo/Law
JJ/Childress/Redick
Josh Smith/West/J-Rich
Horford/Zaza
Andersen/Hibbert

Would you make the trade?

I hate Duke, but would put that aside and trade for reddick who is like 6'6" for Salim who is worthless on d and a bad locker room guy

JJ Redick is only 6'4 and he can't get his shot off with anyone in his face.

You guys do realize that Salim is an unrestricted free agent right? THis is a guy who would be lucky to get a guaranteed contract and you guys want to do a S&T? seriously people- wake up!

No comparison

As bad as Redick appears to be, he still has more value than Salim. Salim isn't going anywhere in a 1for1 deal. He is a FA now, so good luck to him getting his game up to where another team has interest.
My guess is he will have to play in the summer league.

Redick is still a lottery choice and one that hasn't proven anything. I compare him to Shellhead...hey, funny how both played together at Duke! Both are over valued.

I think either can be role players, but not at the selection they were taken. And when their contracts expire, both of them will end up with a MLE.

Don't keep this to memory, but Redick might end up as a Kapona or Pargo type player.

Salim has MORE HEART, more speed, can handle the ball better and plays harder on defense. Salim is not a star and still has a lot to work on, but FACE IT, he brings more to the table than Reddick. Wood just doesn't know how to use a bench and he can't develop BBALL IQ like the better coaches. Woody and staff (mostly the staff) have been good at developing and conforming 1 super athlete, Josh Smith. That's also goes along with Josh doing his own work and training hard over these last couple of summers.

Childress already had talent and high BBall IQ and Marvin still hasn't quite "arrived" yet...Let's see, who else did Woody & Co. develop?

Salim - Naaaahhh!!!! But he definitely could have been a quality scorer off the bench on a team that really struggles from the perimeter, right?

Zaza - Hmmm! Nope. He was better in his 1st year here when he was all Woody had inside. Soon as Woody was able to bench him consistently, Zaza regressed. But hey, Zaza has been suspect in a lot games this year, right?

Solomon - Nope. Rides the pine with a lot of shotblocking ability that comes with his tendacies to foul too much and missed 1-2 DEF assignments here-n-there...But hey wait, aren't those always weaknesses of guys that don't get PT consistently? Hmmm.

Mario West - [Scratch head] - how do you not use a super energy guy that just wants to play hard, D up, and help the team in anyway possible? Woody & Co. has found a way - LOL!

Acie Law - NO IN PROGRESS....

Shelden - LMAO...Yeah right? LMAO some more!!!!

Salim is a designated shooter who can't shoot, handle the point or play D. Not to mention he has an attitude.

He'll probably get picked up for the league minimum but not much more than that.

How can a human being possibly think that Salim can't shoot. When he got consistnat minutes, he shot the ball well...when he didn't he didn't shoot the ball well.
