WIRETAP: Orlando still believes they're better than Detroit

The Magic still believe that they are better than the Pistons, despite the fact that Detroit eliminated them in five quick games earlier this week, according to The Orlando Sentinel.

"I think we're the better team," Hedo Turkoglu said. "If you look at the games closely it upsets me."

I don't want to say they're the better team, but they're the smarter team," Rashard Lewis said.

Is it just me or is this just a really stupid thing for the Magic players to say. I mean c'mon you guys just lost 2 games in a row to a team WITHOUT their best player.

IMO this is highly disrespectful to the Pistons. I'm honestly tired of teams simply saying " Oh we beat ourselves " and not giving proper credit to the opposing team. They should man up and admit the better team won the series.

I think its poor sportsmanship. What's the point of saying all that when you've already lost? It would have made much more sense if they said something like, " Detroit is better right now, but we're going to work hard and hopefully next year we'll be the better team" or something along those lines.

I can accept it when the Pistons say it, since that group has proven that they can get it done, but the Magic group has accomplished nothing

The Magic cried at the end of the Reg season for not getting enough respect. Then went to show every they didnt deserve any respect by losing to Det without CB.

Now they tell us the are the better team, thats like trash talking after losing. Just shut up already

I was rooting for the Magic cos i like them, they a young stud DH12 but he needs alot of work to be effect in the PO's. Just too raw. They will ok in the future but in the mean time hit the gym and keep your mouths shut guys

It's good to see the entire team is delusional and not just our PG. They need to stfu and use this loss as fuel to get better not come out and spew some BS about they were the better team when they loss to the other team and they didn't have their best player. Not only that a rookie out played our " leader".

Nah I know Im a fan lol.. they should shut up though, even though they did mess up a lot with Ft's and turnovers and crappy stretches.. thats because Detroit is a better team

It was a close series, but Detroit won 4-1.

That should be enough to shut them up.

I don't mind trash-talking...as long as they walk the walk.

although the pistons won 4-1, the series was a lot closer than that.

Each team had 1 blowout win.

Then Detroit won 3 very close games. Two of them the magic were up going down the stretch and failed to close out the games. That doesn't make them a bad team. That just means Detroit is a million times more clutch.

I don't think the players should be saying this, but I don't also think as fans this message board should be going "stfu magic, your all a bunch of scrubs, blah, blah, blah" and things to that extent.

The Pistons were clearly the better team in the series, the magic players clearly just feel they beat themselves (think technicals down the stretch, missed free throws, and turnovers - those were all mental errors on the magic players parts).
