no way i would give carney for him.rodney played good basketball after all star break and maybe he will be a solid 20+ min/game player next season.

This deep reserve whiner has no value. How dare he have the audacity to make playing time AND trade demands? Additionally he has made these demands more than once. He's a malcontent and a problem.

I love how a guy like Reddick can't beat out the likes of Mo Evans, Keyon Dooling, et al on an Orlando team with a weak back court, then cries for a trade because he still believes his press clippings from college. Who knows, he might blossom into a reliable three point specialist next year, but based on his performance to date Orlando (who has a number of free agents at his position) will want more than I would be willing to pay. Right now I would not trade Carney for him straight up, but I might consider that exchange if other deals happen around this team that make it a more desirable exchange.

If it'll get rid of Willie Green's contract, Id trade for JJ in a second.

I'm not so sure we would have to give up Carney at this point.

We are terrible at shooting threes. Like really terrible. We just shot 23% from 3 in a 6 game series. If we can pick up a guy like Reddick, who even in limited time has shown he can still shoot the ball, without giving up a lot I think you have to consider it.

HAHA!! I completely agree with that. Ever since we traded Korver I have been craving a premier 3pt shooter. I would like to give JJ a chance if the price is right and I would be ecstatic to get him for chuckin Willie

I would not be opposed to bringing in JJ to come off the bench to serve the Eddie House/Luther Head type role, but the reality of it is we need a 3pt shooter who is going to either start or play significant minutes off the bench (30+ min/gm). It's great to have shooters, but it they only play 10-18 MPG they won't have much of an impact on the team offense. I can't see JJ getting more than 15-18 min max and that's probably being generous.

That's a very good point. There is no way Reddick would start for us or even play many minutes. We need a guy who can do other things besides simply shoot, so he'll be in the game for longer periods. As I mentioned before, Mike Miller would be a great fit. Hell, even if we were to get someone like him and have him play 30 MPG, our three point shooting overall would still likely be below average.

I have to enter Roger Mason Jr. into this conversation. I'd much rather acquire him over both JJ and Mike Miller considering that he is a free agent that I presume will not cost much money. He has a 3 point shot, he's 6'5" and he can play the backup PG position in addition to the SG and SF. He reminds me of Aaron Mckie a little bit.

If we were to sign Mason then what happens to Lou Williams?

We need a Kevin Ollie replacement and someone to replace Korver's 3 point shooting. Willie Green's minutes will be reduced and replaced by Carney, Lou, and Mason. Unlike Ollie Mason will push for major minutes and competition can upgrade a position

We could give up a future second rounder for him. He is not worth much.

Hell no. That's one of the main reasons why he never gets playing time.

That, and he's viewed as a tweener. Could be a guy to have as part of the second unit.

Redick can flat out shoot. I wouldn't mind picking him up for a look see next year. Second rounder, maybe.

I can see Redick carving out a career like Eddie House or Damon Jones. These types are useful when used properly.
Two years from being two years away.
