A first tradepost for me

Post#1 » by Em Dzhei » Fri May 16, 2008 11:29 am

.. SO DONT BASH

My target would be memphis, as they have a few nice assets, i dont know if the salaries match, but this is just based on talent and needs

Ws trade
Big Al
Petey

Mem trade
Miller
Warrick or Navarro

i guess this would benefit both teams..

personally i really like miller as a 2/3 for us, would make us a lot taller and better rebounders, navarro or warrick would be a backup side-dish..

maybe we/they throw in a 2nd rounder..

comments..

well, JCN could be had as they are already loaded in the backcourt and JCN would make a nice back up for us... also a very skilled shooter, which is something our team does need.. See Reggae, said shooter, not chucker

as for Miller, always have liked his game, as even though he is a skilled shooter also from long range, from the SG-SF pos, he does rebound pretty well.. I think last season it was near 6-7rpg..

Mem could move Miller as that it would allow Gay to move from PF to his more natural SF pos.., they are also in prime position to draft a qualtiy SG, or even then, Piety could play their defensive SG...

If Al and Miller are on same lenght deals, this is something I could see happening, as MEM is shorter on Bigmen than we are

JCN can shoot all he wants... can't play D, not really a PG... no need for him or Warrick.

Also no need to get smaller and more expensive... and by the same token, MEM has almost no reason to do this at all.

If we're gonna take a flyer on anyone from Memphis, why not Darko? He's long, can block shots, and likes playing on the perimeter. I've always considered him a larger PF, I think he could play next to Biedrins even..

He's up to 275 now (was 240 when drafted)... a year in Nellyrexia boot camp and the guy could be useful...

Despite how slow he is, he can patrol the C pretty well... still has great and quick leaping ability, even with the added weight. All these teams stuffed him into a C mold when he was never that kind of player..

I'd agree I don't see the incentive for Memphis to do this. They give up the best player in a multiplayer deal, which is usually a warning sign. They don't really get deeper, which might be one reason to do so. Unless I'm mistaken, they don't particularly improve their financial outlook either. So I don't get it. I'd love to get Miller over here, though...

That's a mean thing to say. Probably true 70% of the time. Darko has at times woke up and played fairly well (Eddy Curry Syndrome) but usually is more like Kosta given far more minutes and money.

When I posted, I thought his salary was around 4m a season... didn't realize the Grizz gave him almost 7m per... way too expensive for such a huge risk.
