Chamberlain -- matched Kareem head to head even past his prime and a clearly superior rebounder

Russell -- superior rebounding, defense, and comfortable in the high post whereas Hakeem and Kareem both need the low post

Kobe -- able to guard Bird on the wing with Russell and Wilt providing insurance in the paint, Bird hasn't got the speed to cover Kobe

West -- another great shooter/defender to spread the floor

Oscar -- matches Magic in the halfcourt, Magic's open floor advantage will be lessened by the superior rebounding of the frontcourt preventing fast break opportunities

Better rebounding, superior defense, equal halfcourt offense.

Bird would post up Kobe all day. If Chmaberlain or Russell come with help Bird for sure (one of the best passers of all time) would find open man.

Not using any of his players I'd have to go with something like:

C - Wilt Chamberlain
F - Tim Duncan
F - Scottie Pippen (or LeBron James)
G - Kobe Bryant
G - Walt Frazier

Would be a pretty good matchup IMO.

The problem with this is that neither Kareem nor Hakeem is effective away from the basket. Bird posts up, the team rotates over leaving either Kareem or Hakeem free, but not if they are both in the same general area so they are either guarded or out of their sweet zones.

That's one of the problems with taking two centers the way Reggie did(same issue the opposing team has on offense of course, but that's why both wings are outside shooters/slashers who won't be posting up).

Thats not true at all. Hakeem had a good face up game and could hit jump shots. Kareem had good range on his skyhook. Neither of them is a liability outside of the post.

hmmm....not using the players he used, I'd take shaq, wilt, west, kobe, and michael cooper.

i want cooper on bird. He was really the only guy who had any kind of success on bird (though not much lol, but its bird). Plus he gives my team 3 excellent shooters from long range, allowing shaq and wilt to do their work inside.

kobe and michael would be great. However, i might instead use bryant on magic. His size, fundamentally sound defense, and athleticism would be able to effect magic a bit, i think. West on magic or jordan would be good, too, tho i like west more on jordan, cuz magic could post him up easier.

Shaq and wilt are just too much size and strength. Nobody's taking rebounds away from them. They can block shots. They can cut of passing lanes, driving lanes, and box out just based on their sheer size in the middle. And hakeem and kareem woouldn't be killing my team enough one-on-one for me to send a double team; shaq and wilt would do alrite guarding them by themselves.

On offense, like i said, you have 3 shooters. Bryant and west take care of clutch time and creating shots. Cooper just shoots 3's. They'd offensive rebound very well. Their passing would be great. And shaq and wilt would be too much inside combined, even with the other 2 great centers defending them.

Altho, i dunno. With jordan, bird, magic, the skyhook, and dream shakin, that team does look unbeatable. lol
