Not to harp too much on this issue -- but can everyone downplaying the Hawks series now admit that spending 7 games to finish off Atlanta hurt the Celtics in the second round?

Had a few of LeBron's shots fell in Game 1, and the Cavs stole one in Boston, the Celtics would be fishing right about now.

Detroit-Orlando were already into their series when we were busy playing a Game 7. The Celtics started the second round late and if they manage to advance, they'll face a Detroit team that has had an entire week between the two series to rest and get healthy.

Celtics are this playoffs' paper tigers. The regular season is an insignificant memory, and this team's sense of entitlement has them duped.

If the Celtics wants to go down in the annals of basketball history as anything more than a dismal failure, they simply have to go to the finals. Remember, no one talks about The Mavericks' fabulous 2007 season.

If Clevo takes this series, the 2008 Celtics will be remembered, but for all the wrong reasons.

And to respond to the last post, I have no doubt the 7-game series with Atlanta has shaken the team's confidence and has left them exposed as perhaps a gang of front runners. Within one game, the Celtics have yet to rebound from any sort of adversity. Ray has been largely non-existent. Paul looks like a crumbling shell of a player. Garnett, consistency aside, has failed to respond as if he deserves to be in the ECF. He should be destroying the Cavs in the paint on both ends, but we haven't really seen it. Even the 2001 team had more balls than that. These signs don't bode well for the C's future playoff hopes.

Guys, if we lose Game 7, don't blame it on the refs in Game 6. We were really lucky to pull out a Game 1 win, and were also lucky to come back from a 14-point deficit in Game 5. Cleveland is really the better team if they advance to the East Finals, because in the 3 games in Cleveland, they have really shown us who the contender is.

I also feel like Detroit doesn't take ANYBODY seriously because they think they can coast based on their experience. Honestly, the Magic were not *that* good and perhaps had an artificially inflated record...a good team, yes, but not in the league of Boston, Cleveland, or Detroit.

I think Detroit's mental lapses will doom them eventually. Their window is closed, anyway.

Detroit hasnt had any mental lapses since Game 3 of round 1 against Phili. They played excellently against Orlando espeically considering that they were without their all star PG/captain and best player, Chauncey Billups for 3 games- but I guess that isnt relevant.

Detroit and Cleveland at this point look like much more dangerous teams than Boston. KG has been great for 3.5 quarters a game, Pierce has been ok, Ray Allen looks burnt out and washed up and Rondo is only showing flashes. Both Detroit and Cleveland have shown that they can face adversity, wheras Boston hasnt... THe Pistons and Cavs look more mentally tough than the C's do and I think that will go a long ways.

If the Celtics want to win a championship they need to get tougher and remember that they are a team that has won 66 games in the regular season led by a future HOF in Kevin Garnett instead of a team that is 0-6 in road games in the playoffs.

I'm gonna blame the refs.

It will no doubt surely be the reason the C's lose Game 7.

Cleveland is better than they were last year -- but I wouldn't call them a contender because I don't see them winning the Finals regardless of who they face (LA, New Orleans or San Antonio).

Detroit beat themselves last year and the Cavs proved it with a quick sweep in the Finals.

What a series, capped by an all-time classic of a game, and Paul Pierce's best as a Celtic up to this point. Sure, the series felt as if it lasted 10 games--much like the Atlanta series in round one--but it was one for the ages. Cleveland is a much better team than I expected, and West and Sczcerbiak have fit in better than I would have ever thought. Wow, what a series, I just don't know what to say.

Bring on Detroit!

Congrats to you all on the win, thanks for doing everybody a favor and doing your best to prevent another "Lebron Team" vs. Spurs final. Now if you could prevent another Pistons vs. Spurs final, that'd be even better (hopefully N.O. makes all that a moot point tonight by knocking off the Spurs anyways)

But for real, congrats, and it was GREAT to see Pierce go off like he did yesterday, I figured all along he was the clutch closer and finisher on your squad, I guess he just wanted to do his finishing in a dramatic game 7. After being stuck on some bum squads recently, it's good to see him on the big stage again.

The Cavs have a huge oppurtunity to turn their assets (mostly expirings) into a second star this offseason. For Cleveland's sake, they better not blow this chance.

If they do, LeBron is GONE in 2010...count on it.
It's still 17 to 11!!!!
