AL Thorton vs. Thad Young

Post#1 » by sixer4ever » Sat May 17, 2008 5:30 pm

Who you got?

At first i was all about the sixers drafting thorton and was extremely pissed when young was drafted but he has developed way faster than i thought he would and now I am glad we drafted him over thorton.

What do you guys think? Who would you rather have?

Right now I'd would rather have Thornton, but in the future give me Young.

I'd have to agree with this. The extra 2-3 years of maturity helps Thornton out alot right now. Once Thad has another year or two to mature (mentally, physically), he will be the choice.

statistically these two were pretty much even. Thornton I believe is the better scorer, but even right now Young is no slouch, down low he can score on almost any guard/forward, his midrange shot is also good. Young is a much better defender though.

To tell you the truth I would rather have Young right now (and obviously in the future). The reason being I can see him contributing the way he did with the sixers on any team in the league (if not better). He comes in plays solid man/team defense, moves without the ball, and plays unselfish offensive basketball. Thornton on the other hand is a black hole who has a pretty low bball IQ.

Thorton is a very good scorer and a better passer than i expected but as it stand Young is the better defender and he he shoots a much better percent, hes also the better rebounder and not to mention his bball iq is well past his age, so give me Young for now and for the future.
