I think Doc needs to be fired regardless of what happens. Even if we win a championship, even if we win this series, even if we beat Detroit. The man has done absolutely nothing to help this team and if anything has dug them into a hole. I know we won 66 games this season, but how many can actually be associated with him. Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen all helped with the record and we all know their motivation was the reason why we won 66 games. Rondo's sudden improvement also helped, but Doc just sat on his butt at the front of the bench grimacing and buying awful haircuts. It's true he would occasionally get up, but he would only get up in order to complain and barely do a good job at that. Let's face it since the day he was signed he should have been fired and I can't wait until he finally is because then I will finally be able to call myself a Danny Ainge supporter.
Does anyone actually believe that either Mike Brown or Doc Rivers have done any coaching during the series, or in their undistinguished careers?

yikes doc is the one that sets the tone.... and the tone has been horrible!

Like Garnett said, we do what he tells us, Doc does not put his players in position to succeed. He thinks all he has to do is roll the ball on the court and be a cheerleader.

Why no exploitation of match ups? Why take the ball out of Rondo's hands? Why initiate the offense with Pierce? why why why?

Who makes your All-Star SF run the point at the end?

Who puts in a unproven rookie to play at crucial moments? Why not Powe all of a sudden? Why no P.J Brown all of a sudden? Yet let Big Baby go 2/8 and 0-3 in the 4th?

Why take Rondo out for so many minutes? Why not put a combo of Rondo and House in if you really wanted his spark.

Doc is one prick that deserves to be fired.

If [insert anything that could ever happen], should Doc be fired? Yes.

HOly ****, PP and KG on the same team, and if this team ain't in the finals, then the coach should be kicked to the curb.

As an outsider looking in -- and excited about the possibility of three outstanding, deserving players winning their first championship together -- it's been so disappointing that Doc Rivers' horrific coaching has overshadowed a great story. Ray Allen is a joy to watch, among my favorites all-time, so I confess that I do come with an agenda -- for him to get a ring.

What it comes down to imho is that the Celtics have been successful thus far in spite of Doc's coaching...regardless of whether you attribute success to players and losses to Doc (or vice versa).

While I understand arguments in favor of him, consider that he has been outcoached by Mike Brown and Mike Woodson (the Hawks had no business being in game 7)...and by no means would I call either a good coach (Brown is clearly getting better though).

It would seem that if this team wants to take advantage of the talent they put together for a few good years, they need a coach who knows what to do with it. Doc doesn't.

Someone mentioned this earlier, but a guy like Poppovich knows his team is playing for the championship and spends the whole year prepping them for it. So when they get to the playoffs, he can let the players do what they do best in a coherent system and win. Doc is not just overcoaching -- it looks like they are making things up on the fly... which leads to consistent mistakes. (I've seen enough Don Nelson to know that making stuff up on the fly doesn't work...and Nellie is relatively good at that)

In the end, I think Doc is a great coach for a team like that Magic team he rose to prominence with. In the regular season when the pressure is off, he can build great relationships with players, help them come together as a team, and squeeze the most out of them. Once the stakes get higher (meaning the team actually has playoff aspirations) that just doesn't work...you have to establish a system that can carry you to 4 out of 7.

At what point do people say Doc just can't do it?

I think it's been proven that Doc is the worst coach ever. It's about **** time House played instead of Cassell and where the **** was Powe last night? Why do adjustments have to come 4 games late all the time? And in Cassell's case 12 games too late? WTF? How can anyone say Doc should still coach anything?

I've said it before.... it takes him at LEAST a full game to realize what changes need to be made. While Belichek goes in at halftime and completely adjust strategy and tactics, it takes Doc a good couple of days to mull it over and decide that Sam isn't getting it done.

If we lose Game 7 on Sunday, our head coach's name next season will be Tom Thibodeau.

win, lose, or draw he should be gone. I thought he should've been gone after the Pacer's series!
