Players you miss watching
I was born in the mid 80s so the I watched the 90s nba, but not as much as the 2000s. I miss watching a ton of players...to name a few....
Gary Payton - his intense defense was so fun to watch and his smack talking.
Hakeem - The dream shake was beautiful.
Charles Barkley - 6'6 beast rebounder was fun t watch
Scottie pippen - yes. i appreciate tenacious defense.
Among others: prime chris webber, sprewell, mullin, penny when he was good.
The players you watch growing up pre-teen i think are always gonna have an impact on fans simply because you were a child and looked up to them or were amazed at the moves they would do...i remember thinking gary payton was untouchable and he was.

I really do miss Michael a lot, I was thinking about that recently.
Prime, and young Shaq, Alonzo Mourning for sure, Shawn Kemp was fun, Muggsy, Larry Johnson... Ironic, I was actually a Hornets fan before they came to New Orleans...
Tim Bug, Grant Hill and Penny way back when. I just miss flat tops in general.

Same here (only 1 year younger; 1985).
When Michael retired for the second time, I had a mild depression; he was my only favourite player until I started cheering for the Lakers around 1996/97, so when his retirement was announced, I was genuinely saddened.
I still miss watching him play. And a lot of others you guys've already mentioned.
Meh, thinking about this usually always gets me into a nostalgia/melancholy type of mood.

Even though I was pretty young, I miss seeing Penny and Hill play at their peeks. I wish it lasted younger.
VC in his peek raptor days (1999-2001) was also a treat to watch. He was a legit top 5 player in the league. His super stardom was absurd. People on the road use to come watch Raptor games just because of him. You miss the ou's and ah's after his highlights as they would occur 4-5 times a game and then they just stopped.

I missed watching a guy like Rodman. Dude was a show, the way he messed with players head. I hated how he messed with Zo's head, but oddly enough I missed watching his theatrics.
a guy like Mugsy Bougues, he was just entertaining to watch such a little guy play ball.
John Stockton, I like his quiet demeanor, and his all around game.
Hakeem in his prime.
Oddly enough, Jordan, has a replacement in Kobe, with the Dunking abilities of Vince Carter, that I truly don't missed him.

I miss watching Reggie.
Further back, Larry Bird.
Too bad today's fans didn't get a chance to see Wilt, Russell, West, Hondo, Clyde live instead of in old clips

I was watching some russell clips earlier. It sounds like a cliche thing to say, and sometimes it doesn't look intentional, but EVERY block heads to a teammate, and I always loved that.
