Who is the 5th Beatle?

Post#1 » by DubaLakers » Sun May 18, 2008 2:07 pm

Bynum, Kobe, Gasol, Lamar, the fab 4. Who is the next most important asset to the Lakers. Well D Fish of course, but I'm talking about asset to the franchise as far as trade value considering DFish's age. A more long term asset. Who is the fifth Beatle?

I say it's Sasha. Can play 3 positions on offense or defense. 6' 7" tough competes, bugs the shi* outta the player he's defending. He shocked me nearly as much as LO this year. I'm worried we can lose him. I'd try to get him if I was a GM of another franchise.

erm how is bynum in this when he has never even played at the same time with the other 3? for all we know gasol and bynum just won't work. fisher is far more valuable than bynum anyway, considering we sealed the number one spot in the west and we are in the WCF in just 10 games.

I'm not talkign about the playoffs. I should have made that more clear. If another GM approached Mitch about trades who would he feel had more value to the Lakers who would he protect more than the others in a trade.

Brian epstein.....i mean. Sasha, only because ronny, vlad, luke, farmar or anyone wont be good enough to be a fab. Sasha's best is yet to come, so he could become a beatle (or help sometimes like billy preston)

Considering everything, Phil and the org will defininitely try and keep Derek Fisher at all costs.

He brings waaaay more to this team when compared to Sasha, even considering their age difference.

Fisher for sure.

erm ok, its quite clearly farmar, hes had a bad series and the fickle lakers fans are suddenly against him but at points during the season were hoping that he would split more time with fisher. Farmar has high basketball IQ and experience beyond his years, if he keeps improving his shot and gets to become a good 3 point shooter he will be dangerous.

if i were a gm that had a young team like portland, seattle and maybe even sactown i would identify him as someone who will be a very good unselfish point guard in the league for many years to come and if he gets himself in the right system could put up allstar numbers.

If ariza hadn't got injured we would all be saying him now.

i think its difficult to look at anyone else because i think players that we have a very specific to our needs, like walton will be a laker aslong as phil is here, so will sasha because of the way they fit into his system. with walton especially and sasha to an extent, they wouldn't be able to play in every system in the league and would really stuggle and look out of place on some teams.

trade value ? other than "the fab 4" I think its turiaf alot of teams out there likes his game

I dont think we have to worry about losing sasha, I cant think of a team that will trade for him/ give him the full mle
they proly rather trade for/spend it on a free agent who has similar style of playing but better than him, like jarvis hayes, posey

what makes sasha looks so good is because he fits perfectly in the tri offense a catch and shoot guy who can play good d/hustle, like fish and remember the 06-07 walton?

Clearly Sasha and I don't see us getting Artest or Davis for the midlevel.

Can someone please explain to me why the Lakers' front office would rather have Fisher leave over Sasha?

Vinnie Barbarino.

The Lakers FO is thanking God everyday they have DFish.
There is no way they value Sasha over DFish.
This is not meant to lower Sasha's value to the team. He has been great off the bench and has actually been in the game late in the 4th quarter of many important games.
DFish though has been a stabilizing factor, a glue, to this team with infinite value.

That's right.

Speaking of the Beatles, does anyone know the name of the record exec in London that turned them down just before Brian Epstein picked them up? His famous line "Guitar music is on the way out" was his reasoning for not signing them.

I think his name was Dick Rowe.

btw all this fifth beatle stuff is confusing.

when the beatles were 5 Stuart Suitcliff was the extra guy
when Ringo came on board Pete Best got kicked out
when the beatles made it big Brian Epstein was responsible
when they played with an extra guy for s**ts and giggles it was Billie Preston and I think he plays the piano on "Get Back".
and finally Michael Jackson pwned Paul McCartney and now owns every single beatle song

who is the fifth beatle? wtf??????

and back on topic, yeah Sasha is the 5 fifth beatle.

edit- yeah that was his name, I just wikipediaed him. he somewhat redeemed himself by signing the rolling stones.

It would be between Turiaf and Sasha, with Sasha getting the edge. Ever since Ariza got hurt, Sasha has been on an absolute tear with no regard for human life.

sasha has been on a tear long before that. he's been the main reason that the bench was so effective. he's the bench mob's number one scoring option.
