Come on dude. It's not like Ray hasnt had ANY good games this year. So obviously he knows his "role in the offense" some of the time. Stop the apologizing stuff..

If we dont trade him, the most we can hope for is that his ankles were not fully healed and they will be next season.

ray plays well when the celtics move the ball, because he's always on the weak side. if the celtics go into "kg vs everyone, Pierce vs. everyone, Rondo thinks he's CP3" mode, we lose.

I'v seen so many occasions where Ray has been ahead of the break, wide open, or had a good matchup... and hasnt been passed the ball in favor of a much worse shot. The coaching staff absolutely needs to address this.

He isn't injured, his defense is pretty good.
This is probably the most accurate analysis. Doc has been stressing the whole playoffs that we need to keep moving the ball and not take hero shots. I remember a problem we had in the beginning of the year was that we were too unselfish and passed the ball around too much. What happened?

Real complete players don't suffer from this "the offense isn't tailored to me" stuff. They can score in any offense. That's the Ray Allen I know. You guys try to paint him as Reggie Miller in his later years - that's simply not his game.

If we lose today, the off season will be filled with get rid of Ray and Sam, and don't forget to fire Doc. This will be the top three things talked about if we lose today, guarentee it!!!

What are you talking about after the season? They are already the most talked about issues.

Ray's not going anywhere. After the way he's played this playoffs, we won't get a quarter on the dollar for him.

Why is he struggling so bad? It's a mystery wrapped in an enigma. It's completely inexplicable. He didn't have a great regular season but he was fine. This is bizarre. He's literally terrible. Not "not good." Terrible.

He's not over the hill. Anybody watch the All-Star Game? He can reel off five 3's in a 2-minute stretch. His shot is WAY off. Paul's is, too. How many open 3's can these guys miss?

I don't care that Ray Allen has become a bad shooter - thats life in the NBA. What pisses me off is that he never, ever hustles. Only player on the team who won't dive for a loose ball. Never breaks a sweat because he never breaks a jog on defense. Never a hard foul. Never able to play any help D.

Is anybody on this board aware of this?
truehoops.com wrote:ESPN did not ask me to post this, I swear. It's from Bob Wolfley of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel: "ESPN's news magazine show 'E:60' will feature a story about Boston Celtics guard Ray Allen, formerly of the Milwaukee Bucks, whose family is facing challenges off the court. Flora Allen-Hopson, Allen's mother, and Derek Hopson, Allen's stepfather, have spent more than two years in a witness protection program, after the attempted murder of Hopson, a psychologist. The husband of the former wife of Hopson, Ernest Garlington, a counselor of at-risk kids, organized the attempted murder of Hopson. Recently, Garlington was sentenced to 33 years in prison on five counts of conspiracy to commit murder. 'E:60' will air at 6 p.m. Tuesday on ESPN."

I totally appologize for anything I have said about him this season. That would throw anyones game off. Family comes first period. Once again I sincerely appologize for anything I have said about Allen this season.

Sure I'm aware of it, but there are a lot of folks having personal life troubles and I don't want them starting at guard in the Eastern Conference Finals either.

I wouldn't be surprised if Ray had some off court issues. I don't think you go from 26ppg scorer to also ran in one year..

I agree with all the comments that he just needs some plays run for him and he needs more looks, preferably early in the game. Doc addressed it to some extent today and his solution was to sit him down, but unfortunately Posey's game has fallen off a bit recently also.

Ray Allen is a proven shooter, give him his looks and in the long run he will nail them. You have to trust him.

I think RayRay will be fine if the Celts make a concerned effort to get him looks. You have to make Rip Hamilton work on defense and Ray is going to be a big part of that. I know we've heard this before but I expect a break out series for Ray.
