ok with all the maggette talk and him saying he wants to finish here, it brings up the possibility of us having to move hedo for him, so the question is, who would you prefer?

i personally want hedo here, maggette is something that would be perfect for us but i think hedo could play sg just fine too, plus hes got more size to cause a lot more mismatches

Depends on the team...

I like Hedo for our team because Jameer isn't the best play maker in the world.

If we had Chris Paul or some kind of great play making point guard then I'd probably choose Maggette.

Gotta go with Hedo. Hedo is a far superior go to guy, especially in the 4th. Although Magette loves to get to the line, and would work well with us since it would allow kick outs, he's also an inefficient chucker. It either goes down or not, and the majority of the time it will not.

Hedo > Maggette.

I want Magic Johnson in his prime instead.

This isn't even a question. I'd love Maggette but certainly not at the expense of Hedo. If we're going to trade Hedo then we need to get back a hell of a lot better than Maggette.

How about Battier for Hedo plus he is already signed to muti year contract.

If it's a straight up choice anyone off this season would take Hedo.

I think we could have both...

i just dont think battier brings enough to the table for a straight up trade for hedo. i know battier is a great defensive player, but if you compare what hedo has done for us this year to what battier has done for the rockets this year, i think hedo's production outweighs battiers by quite a bit

No way to that trade too. Maybe a trade for Corey, but I don't think that makes us any better, most likely worse. Corey may be the overall better talent but I want to see another year from Turk before making a definitive judgment.

Unlike Hedo Battier has been more constant. Hedo's new contract is going to cost the Magic more then what Battier would and plus the Magic need his kind of defense. Did y'all know that the Rockets used him to guard Kobe when the Rockets played the Lakers and he kept Kobe to his lowest score of the season. Just thought you might want to know.

I wouldn't trade Hedo straight up for Maggette. The article was even talking about "filler" to make the salaries match for Mags, noway. If they added something from their end, I would be cool with it. Something like Hedo, JJ, and #22 for Mags and the #6 pick still seems about right to me. I would love to have Corey here, but his injury history is too extensive for an even swap imo.

hedo for battier  .....yes battier is a great defender, but has only averged more then 10.2 pts once in his career, not a better passer..battier's defense doesnt make up for hedo's scoring and play making ability, trading hedo for battier will mean that you think this season was a fluke for hedo and he will return to normal

I'd love to have Maggette but not at the expense of Hedo. I would only make that trade if we got something more than just Maggs and if we got a better playmaking PG.

Aight, here is how I do that trade; Hedo/Battie/22cd pick for Maggs/1st rounder. Then we actually do something that dumb dumb Povtak recommended and draft either Randolph (his idea) or Love ( an interesting option). Those are two rooks that could come in a start right away, and with Dwight to cover there arses would have a comfort zone to learn.

Just saw this, and it works maybe even better than throwing in Battie. Though I still have a minor man crush on Redick and would like to see him play here. Yah, on second thought, throwing in Battie is better.

Hedo is a very good ball player, but I'd trade him for either Maggette or Battier without hesitation. I agree with the early responses though---we would absolutely have to pick up another distributor if Hedo were to be traded. I don't need Chris Paul---Chris Duhon would be fine.

E, you realize that Hedo and Battie is 12.5M in salary right? Do you think Maggette is going to opt out of his contract and get that much of a starting salary? His option is only 8.4M, thats why I included JJ instead. It also fills the void better for them because they lose a sg.

Some freak out that I say include the sixth pick, but really what sure stud is going to be there at that spot this year? Six only sounds like a high number, but in my mind, there isn't a world of difference between that and 22, not this year anyway. Also, not when we include the more versatile player with Hedo, and one without a history of significant injuries. Hedo is the better ball handler and play maker. The only reason that I'm even up for trading Hedo is because of the redundancy due to the Lewis signing, and sinking big money into two sf's long term seems silly to me. Someone will always be playing out of position. I'd like to move Lewis to his natural spot eventually, and I don't think Hedo can play sg for big minutes. That much money coming off the bench isn't a good option either, something has to give imo. Mags is a better fit because he can play a needed position for us, but Hedo has become the better player. There's a big difference imo.

Tell me this isn't balanced. Hedo, JJ, and say CDR, or Hibbert, or Koufos, for Mags and maybe Randolph or Jordan. Sure there is an advantage on our side, but not a gigantic one. We should be dealing from a position of strength anyway, or otherwise why do the deal in the first place? There are other opportunities for a Hedo trade. It doesn't have to be this one. I'd like to win a trade now and then. A Hedo and "filler", even if it is addition by subtraction with Bogans, doesn't work for me. If they don't want to give up #6, then maybe a third team might have to be involved. Either way, I don't want to give up Hedo unless we get something very decent for our troubles. Just my two cents.

We can't trade Hedo because then we will not have a playmaker. Every team has AT LEAST one playmaker. Until we have another playmaker, I would hold on to Hedo until there's an offer we can't refuse.
