Thank You Paul Pierce

Post#1 » by return2glory » Mon May 19, 2008 12:50 am

Lot of people are crediting House and P.J. Brown. Take nothing away from these two, they had a big hand in this game.

But Paul Pierce is the main reason why we won game 7 and advanced to the Eastern Conference champiosnhip game. I like to applaud and thank Pierce for his amazing game.

Paul Pierce is an all star that played like a super star today in one of the most important games in the last 20 years for this team. Pierce sometimes doesn't get enough credit for the things he does.

Thank you Paul.

Amen to that, r2g! Paul played his best game of the year in his most important game as a Celtic. Absolutely amazing, and one of the ALL-TIME performances by ANYONE to wear a Celtic uniform. Classic.

To me, Paul Pierce means everything. He is the only true Celtic that anyone under 20 has ever seen, and maybe will ever see. He is everything that is Celtics basketball. Watching Pierce in the 02 playoffs is what got me into the Celtics. Paul exemplifies what it means to put on a jersey and mean it. He knows exactly what the letters on the front of the jersey spell out, and what those letters mean to so many people. Being 18, Paul is the best Celtic player I have ever seen. No matter who this team acquires in the future, Paul will always be my favorite. You better believe some day soon you will look up to this rafters and see the number 34 etched next to 33 and just in front of banner 17.

yeah thanks for providing an instant classic in the game 7. he's the true star of your team. I'm gonna root for him from now on but Tayshaun might be a tough match up for him.

Finally! Boston had a great year anyway, but I felt that Pierce tried to blend in too much with Garnett and RAllen. To me, Pierce on offense is clearly more explosive than anybody else on Boston. Garnett has always wanted to be Robin, not Batman on offense. RAllen is not the same RAllen of a FEW years ago. He can be a devastating outside threat but not your go-to guy anymore. Pierce is close to unstoppable with great range. IT WAS HIS TEAM IN THE PAST! IT STILL IS! He does not need to defer to the others.

No big man nor pg is going to be Batman on offense, big men are sort of defensive stoppers, pgs are the one who have to run games, shooting guards have to shoot, small and power forwards have to attack the rim and play in-between game... That's the nature of the game, roles' names are not there for a sort of joke, they identify the specific abilities... Name a title winner big man in the last 20 years who relies more on offense than on defense...

TD? No
Shaq? Hell, NO!
Ben Wallace-Rasheed Wallace? NO!
Akeem? NO!(3.5BPG!)
Wennigton-Cartwright-Horace Grant-Luc Longley-Dennis Rodman? NO way!
Lew Alcindor? NO!

Maybe they have an average to great offense but their defense was always better than offense.

Lets not forget to thank Red...he put that free throw in for pierce.
"The guy is an idiot," Pedroia said regarding Cabrera. "I dropped my bat. It kind of freaked me out. I was upset they took him out of the game. He is good to hit. He's 9-15. The guy [stinks]."
