i think sap will always work best being our rotation PF off the bench.

it just seems like some nights he has no touch around the basket and misses alot of gimme putbacks, combine this with his lack of a jumpshot, and you get someone who probably won't be able to produce starting like he could coming off the bench. booz isn't leaving, i think our rotation at pf is set.

What people aren't mention is that if Boozer wasn't here Okur would be back to a 18/9 guy, Millsap would like be at least a 12/9 guy purely off of offensive rebounds and hustle plays.

The Jazz have plenty of scoring, and they can survive with out having their PF scoring 20+, just look at the last 2 monhts of the season with Boozer. And if he is only going to be contributing those kinds of numbers he better be playing good defense which Boozer isn't.

Millsap is twice the defender Boozer is now, and is a capable offensive player in the Jazz' system.

I can see Millsap playing Starter minutes but not actually starting. He works hard, is not afraid of a little rough play, and has a nose for rebounds. Yes he's undersized even at PF but he's the type of player almost every coach wants on his bench. If he could keep out of foul trouble I can see him contending for 6th man of the year next year.

I don't think he's even close to being ready, at least not on a championship contending team. What was it that killed us this year in the playoffs? LENGTH. 'Sap is a high energy guy who hustles, but if you think he'll fare any better against taller bigs playing 35 minutes a night, I think you are overly optimistic.

He still fouls at a very high rate. I'm not sure he's even capable of staying on the court for more than about 25 minutes per game. Its just one man's opinion, but Millsap may be the most overrated player on the team. He's an extremely solid role player, no more.

I love Millsap but he's just too unreliable on offense to become the starter on this team. YES, Boozer sucked in the playoffs but c'mon, that wasn't the real Boozer we saw during the regular season AND last year in the playoffs where he was a beast. Boozer unfortunately hit a huge slump and couldn't play himself out of it, give credit to the Rockets and Lakers cause they schemed him really well.

Return to Utah Jazz
