Great players always attract haters. Tim Duncan won everything possible, and look at the loads of crap he gets on certain message boards.
"BOOORING"
"Cannot hit FTs"
"Dull and robotic"
"Was eaten up by Shaq"
"Whiner and flopper"
Just ignore it, it's jealousy.
Lebron can do no right

But if he isnt the best player in the league, he certainly is in the conversation. His D is much improved, and if he wasnt asked to do so much game in and game out, I wonder if he would have more energy during the regular season against the lesser teams in the league.
I have seen two very important things happen in these playoffs that I havent seen from Lebron before. Both happened in the Washington series, first when he hit Blatch in the jaw with the forearm after gitting clubbed in the head. Second when he lit into Andy for being lazy and out of position on D in a game where the Cavs had a comfortable lead anyway.
Both things are important in that he realizes even more the importance of everyone else being as intense as he is during the game. It isnt enough for Lebron alone to be playing at a high level, he must demand that everyone else does as well. And he is now willing to dish out some punishment if he is getting cheap shots.
The thing I liked about how he got even with Blatch is that he was fouled, the whistle blew, and as Blatch was coming over after the whistle to make sure no shot was attempted he protected himself and sent a message that he wasnt going to let that stuff go anymore.
So even though Lebron is only 23 he is still progressing becoming more of a leader. And if they dont win a title this year he will also have learned that a scoring title alone isnt enough. Something that Kobe took a little while longer to figure out imo.
As a Wizard fan, I respect the way Lebron thoroughly kicked my team's ass but didn't even talk about them in the game six postgame. He was actually gracious.
But the Blatche thing, LBJ did what he did and should have been suspended for. The league gave him a retroactive flagrant as if nothing happened...but turned around and suspended Songaila for whatever that was that happened with James.
If what Lebron did was fair the Wizards should have kept doing to him what he did to Blatche. We all know the league wouldn't allow that.
Having been knocked out of the playoffs, I'm not happy or sad either way. I just recognize James to be a terrific talent who at 23 is going to get better.
I think he needs to stop complaining about folks trying to hurt him. The ironic thing is I think Boston jacked him up worse than the hapless Wizards and HE DIDN"T COMPLAIN! That showed me how great he can be when he's not playing the officials.
Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.

Well I thought he took more in the Wiz series, but its a matter of opinion I guess. However, the Celts didnt brag about how they were going to hit lebron the way the wiz did, and didnt stand over him after hitting him from behind.
After 4 years of nobody on this team standing up to some physical play it was nice to see someone, anyone dish it out for a change. I mean sheed opened Z's head up and nothing was really done about it except for a clumsy attempt by Andy, but that wasnt even in the same game.

Think about it, those 3-peat teams were basically Bryant and Shaquille. Horace Grant and Ron Harper were literally on their last year. Rick Fox was in his twilight. Horry only showed up in the playoffs. Fisher stood out, but injury and fatigue made him inconsistent year to year. That is nothing compared to the supporting casts San Antonio and Detriot had this decade. When I see that supporting cast, in contrast to, Rodman/Grant around peak level with All Defensive play, the Bulls multitude of consistent 3pt. shooters, Kukoc, etc., it doesn't come close.
Bryant may not have won Finals MVP during those years, but he was just as important, if not more important than, Shaquille in the playoffs. Who do you think closed out those games? I'll give you a hint: Youtube Link (as a 21 year old)
Point is Kobe had another top 10 all-time player doing most of the heavy lifting, The Laker years were Shaq's prime were thet not? Lebron doesn't even have another top 50 2008 player on his team or last year's finals team.

lebron, well...is no where near the 3pt and free throw shooter that kobe is
fact or fiction? I agree that Kobe is the better shooter but no where near is a stretch.
07-08 season
kobe: 0.361% on 150-415
lebron: 0.315% on 113-359
with the same number of attempts is 20 less makes considered nowhere near as good?
