Kevin Durant is our good luck charm. I wonder what his 'item' is going to be. If he wants a giant FU to Bennett, he should have a model of the space needle or something. Talk about something that would cement him as fan favorite for all time.

I would be way to anxious to attend a party. This is going to be 'hold' our breath time.

Can't wait for it. I have the whole day off so finally I get to watch it.

For the 2007 lottery I remember last year I was in class and my dad (also a big Sonic fan) said he was gonna text me the results as they were happening since I couldn't access the internet. I was totally engrossed in my work and I completely forgot the lottery shad already started about 15 minutes beforehand! I franticly checked my cell phone for updates and there were several new text messages...the latest one saying "Sonics are in the top 3!" The time on the text indicated it was recent so I literally stared at my phone eagerly waited for the finale...and then the msg "Sonics got #2". Although it wasn't #1 I didn't care I was super pumped it was a great moment to be a Sonic fan. Ahhh that was a good memory - let's hope for another good bounce this year.

Good luck Seattle. With the teams around you, I hope you take the first overall pick at the moment, so maybe Kevin can bring it home for you.

Can somebody please get me excited about this, or about the Sonics in general? Most years I would have been glued to the TV. Last year I rejoiced after watching the lottery. Not to go all Dr. Phil on everyone here, but currently I'm having trouble getting emotionally attached to a team that might or might not leave. I'm boycotting the playoffs and frankly I don't even miss them. Such is my attitude towards the NBA these days.

Don't worry, Sonics: it's not you, it's me.

You should be excited about this because every real man like Charles Barkley likes to gamble (and a lottery is a type of gambling). You don't have a problem, you can afford it.

point BBen? Or did you just feel like ragging on Sir Charles?

I wonder what other teams representatives are. I remember Roy represented the Blazers last year, will Oden this year?

^^Wanted to rag on Charles, think he's a clown. Honestly though if you're not excited I can understand. I always love the draft though, my 2nd fav time of the year after the playoffs.

I would love it if KD showed up with a Space Needle model. The best part is, what is Bennett going to do? Trade the player that every other team in the league would love to take off of his hands? Trade the player that makes this franchise worth more than when he bought it? I thought not.

Has there been any mention of references to Seattle? I remember when the Grizzlies were in this situation they were referred to by Stern during the proceedings as "The Grizzlies" and not "The Vancouver Grizzlies".

I think it will be around 7 p.m. ET.

BTW: I just hope we don't fall out of the top 4, so we at least have a shot at either Mayo or Bayless.

If I was Charles Barkley, I'd be betting on the Knicks landing that #1 pick.

Pretty much. With Stern's comments about the getting better next season and with D'Antoni still in need for a pg to run his system...
Though, maybe the Clippers ruin the Knicks parade and get another #1 pick after 88 and 98.

As i said, i hope we'll at least get a top 4 selection, so we're able to at least get our hands on Mayo or Bayless.

What do you think we'll get, DJ?

7:30 ET ESPN is when it goes down. That's 4:30pm to everyone who lives in Washington.

I hate to say it but I have a hunch the Sonics wind up with the 4th pick.

I hope like crazy I'm wrong though.

Even though the Sonics finished #2, the odd are not with them believe it or not. They have a 20% chance of getting the #1 pick, 19% for #2, 17% for #3, 32% for #4 and 12% for #5. So one way to look at it is, of all the possible outcomes, they are most likely to get the #4 pick... about a 1 in 3 chance. Another way is that they have a 39% chance at #1 or #2. Or a 56% chance of being in the top three. Only a 1 in 8 chance of winding up with the #5 pick.

I've been thinking... what if Memphis gets #1? D Rose or M Beasley? Probably M Beasley. But if it's New York, Miami, Minnesota or the Clippers they'll probably take D Rose.

So another way to look at it is that we don't necessarily have to get the first pick to get D Rose, although that's what it's probably going to take.

It's funny, because last year I was just dead certain we would get a top two pick. Same way I knew my first child was going to be daughter even before we saw the ultrasound. This year I just don't have a feeling one way or the other.

But here's to hoping for #1 & D Rose!
