SF- artest / george
SG- redd / jones
PG- kidd / lue
that bench really stinks. if the bucks trade were to go through like that then i'd want to get some decent filler to go along with Artest. I'd want Francisco Garcia to start with, i like him. maybe salmons too. they'd be the backup 2 and 3s on the team and we could discard Jones and George.
My problem is giving up the number 7 pick for a guy who may be gone after the season. I'd like the deal to be contingent upon Artest accepting an extension (or is there a club option after next season im remembering?) If we lose Artest after one season (especially if he just walks away) then we gave up a good offensive option and the 7th pick for nothing.

That's overpaying for Milwaukee.
Dallas: Howard, Stackhouse for Artest, Villanueva
Sacramento: Artest for Mason (exp), Stackhouse, #7
Milwaukee: Mason, Villanueva, #7 for Howard
And if Charlotte were looking to trade Nazr Mohammed I'd send Mason and Villanueva to them and NM to us.

if i got you right, sac gets mason, stack and #7 for artest.
how can we give up mason for NM then?

Your really overvaluing our players!

Depending on who's out there, I would prefer to keep the seventh overall pick and put it to good use. A trade like this won't be able to happen before or during the draft due to Ron having a player option.

Sacramento doesn't really need Mason. His only value to them would be as an expiring, so they probably wouldn't complain about sending him elsewhere and not having to pay his salary.

That's the most sensible and logical thing said about trading Josh Howard. r2d, you should create a topic on this statement alone.
If we could just close games with Luka, Kyrie, Green, Maxi, and Wood that'd be great...

It's only a bad trade if you're trying to retool and win next year...and even then it may not be that bad. If you're trying to improve your cap situation, get younger, and possibly get better long-term, it's a great deal.
What are the odds that Josh's 2009 looks a lot like his 2008, given our personnel? I'd say it's fairly certain that Josh will (a) still disappear in the second half of games, (b) still rely more on jumpshots than he should, and (c) still have the same emotional swings we saw this season. Will his postseason be better? Almost certainly. Does it matter to me at this point? Not really.

I am still hoping that we hold onto Josh( unless Marion becomes available). I am only in favor of trading him for Redd if we can somehow get Artest( to make up for Josh leaving). I am actually on board with a deal to get J O'Neal( three way sending Josh somewhere besides Indy). I think he might have been tanking it due to the horrible team he as been on. I know most of you disagree, but would like to see him and dirk side by side.
