NOT talking endlessly about ping pong combination percentages. Or lottery simulation websites. Or Secaucus. Or who's representing the team in the lottery. Or (as great as they are) draftexpress and nbadraftnet.

What a relief.

You know what else is great?

Having home court advantage in the Eastern Conference Finals against a team you beat 2-1 in the regular season.

Go Celts!

I'll never forget how anxious I was last year on the actual day of the drawing. Had a day off from work and just tried to do everything to take my mind off it. I even tried to avoid watching the drawing itself since I was so nervous; I figured finding out here would make things less nerve-wracking.

So I decided to watch the Sox instead, then (out of nowhere) during a lull in play, Hazel Mae broke the news and I became VERY pissed off...

Hopefully we won't have to worry about that kind of stuff again for quite some time...

We've come a long way in a year. I remember running those lottery simulation things until we got the first pick, which happened a lot.

I wonder what happens if we did get the first or second. Do we pry Garnett away without giving up Big Al? Can we still swing a deal for Ray Allen? Do we take Oden or Durant?

I definitely like the questions of "how is rondo going to match up with billups?" and "what pick do we have this year? 30? 31? How many teams are there?" a whole lot more.

Not only that, we are one VERY STUPID Tony Allen foul from sweeping them in the regular season.
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

I remember how upset I was last year when they got the fifth pick. It was terrible, I couldn't believe that they were jobbed by the NBA that much.

Looking back if we had gotten the first pick, I think we would've had to trade Pierce and probably would have drafted Kevin Durant. Our lineup most likely would have looked like:

Rondo-Tony Allen-Durant-Big Al-Perk

We would most likely be looking at the ping pong balls today, and hoping we could get Beasley or Rose.

So pretty much, thank you Danny Ainge for making us relevant and instead of watching the ping pong balls tonight, we can watch the Celts in the ECF.

Honestly... I think maybe I'd rather be in that position.

It is, however, fun to be actually STILL watching the game with interest and a legit shot at a title.

I know, ant's a real "fan", huh? I mean who wouldn't want to watch a 25 win team with a couple of nice players vs a team that has a chance to win a title now and for the next few years?
