Jerry Stackhouse

Post#1 » by lukeridenour » Tue May 20, 2008 5:39 pm

im watching ESPN and theyre doing some sort of a pre draft lottery show and jerry stackhouse just said "i think weve all had a couple of drinks and drove home it just so happens that he got caught." when discussing carmello.

is that the right thing to say there? admitting that you drive drunk in front of national TV. i think stackhouse needs to be given lines rather than his opinion when in front of the media.

im sure we all remember what happened with the kidd trade as well.

He definitely needs to know what not to say on TV and to reporters.

Remember that interview before the Kidd trade ? :D

You guys really have a problem with this? I don't know 1 person who hasn't driven after a couple drinks. Many people would fail a breathalizer after only 2 drinks.

I don't see what's so bad about what he said. It's not like he said he gets hammered on a regular basis and drives home after puking in his passenger seat.

There's a difference between a few beers and being over the legal limit. I have never been over the legal limit (pre or post 21).

missing the point? ive driven buzzed before and im sure every college student has. its a stupid thing to do, but thats not my point.

my point is that stackhouse should be given lines because a professional basketball player should not admit to driving drunk on national television. part of his job is to be a role model.

I've had a family killed by a drunk driver.

I've never had a single drink within a few hours of driving.

EVERYONE doesn't drink and drive.

Ive done it, and Im pretty sure a vast majority of NBA players have done it too, but if I had a camera stuck in my face that I knew was being broadcast nationally than Im sure I would keep my mouth shut

If everyone thought like this every bar in America would go out of business. Unless you live in New York City.

And?

In all honesty, you do what you do, it's none of my business. I understand what Stack was saying, everyone does it kinda thing. So I really couldn't care less. It just makes him look like kind of an idiot.
