They'll take Rose and trade Hinrich. Thats what they should do.

Haha D'antoni must feel like a huge idiot right now choosing the Knicks over the Bulls. The Bulls already had the right players to fit his coaching style, with the only need being a point guard who can run the fast-break. Now the Bulls can get Rose and have a perfect team for D'antoni to coach. It's too bad we can't see that, the Bulls would be really really fun to watch.

But regardless, they should take Rose. To give you an idea why, look at what Chris Paul has done vs. what Carmelo has done in the league. A great PG is much more valuable than a scoring SF/PF tweener.

Smart pick for them to do would be draft Beasley. Their fans have complained about not having a post presence for the last 2-3 years.

Rose is a Chicago product and the Bulls' best players are all at the 3 and 4. They'll go with Rose and trade Hinrich.

Agreed.
How long do you give until Hinrich is traded?

I really think they have a need for both players, so I wouldn't be surprised either way. It probably mostly depends on who they see as being BPA. But other than that, I think they actually might have more of a need for Beasley. Hinrich might not be an ideal fit for them, but he's still a lot more proven than Thomas.

My plan would be to take Beasley. The Bulls have been looking for a big man that could score for years now. However, I would put some packages out there and see if I could get something like Jermaine O'neal.

Rose

Rose also lets them play a Rose/Gordon backcourt since Rose has the size to guard 2s.

You guys act like trading Hinrich will be so simple. How many people want him with that crappy contract and his regression last year? Beasley is the post presence the Bulls have lacked for years. I really cant see them passing on him. Their fans sure seem to clamor for Rose though...

Derrick Rose. Hinrich isn't a true PG and had a horrible season.

Star quality PGs are just as hard to find as a star quality low post player.

Rose will be able to create off the dribble with the best of them. IMO, being able to create off the dribble for yourself and others is just as important as low post scoring. Rose will be able to create easy shots for Noah & Thomas as well as draw fouls off of dribble penetration.

Chicago can use Hinrich, Gooden, Thomas & Gordon has trade bait to complement a core of Rose, Deng & Noah.

They will pick Beasley and shop Thomas (who, unlike Hinrich, has some value).

You do realize that Hinrich has a contract that gets smaller each year...

I do realize that. I think he will make something like $7.8 million in the final year of it and like $10 million next year. Still not an easy guy to trade, and lets not forget that Paxson loves him.
