Visitors: Post Trade Offers for #3 Pick HERE.
MIN's been kind of attached to Mayo and the pick for a while, but while a top two pick may have been untradable, at least the #3 is something that can be a point of discussion. A couple things to keep in mind:
1. MIN's biggest need is a young center who can defend.
2. MIN is still a young team, and maybe another year from contending. Grandfathers won't have much value.
3 MIN has one bad contract .. Jaric ($6.5 mil, $21 mil over three years)
Antoine Walker didn't meet contractual requirements so his deal is unguaranteed, and he is a $9 mil expiring. Greg Buckner is a $4 mil expiring.
4 MIN probably wants to stay in the lottery, or get a very good player in the deal. Dealing Mayo may be giving up a potential superstar, so the offer would have to be something good.

You're probably right, but I've read so many trades on the boards where one poster offers to eat Walker's big contract as part of a deal for #3, or another one loads us up with things we don't need. But you're probably right -- visitors won't use the thread.
... so I'll pimp it myself from stealing ideas from the trade board for our discussion:

MIN drafts Mayo.
Mayo, Jaric FOR Cardinal, Lowry, #5 (Lopez)

All I know is that it seems reasonable to move down a few spots, especially considering how McHale said they have 8 guys they really like in this draft. If they feel they can get a guy like Lopez or Bayless a few picks later, then by all means go ahead and do the deal IF we're getting some great value in return. And when I say great value, I mean GREAT value, because Mayo's going to be a complete stud in this league, and it would be a shame to pass on him just because we can.

The Nets could package a deal that would make me think long and hard.
Something like:
Wolves send: #3 + #31
Nets send: #10 + #21 + Sean Williams.
Maybe add Craig Smith if he could be included in a S&T
We could plug Sean Williams next to Al and then still have a lot of options at #10 and #21. Something like Green/Alexander at #10 and Hibbert/R.Lopez at #21? Or Speights/Randolph at #10 and Rush/CDR at #21?

Drat.
At least go for Lopez or Bayless so we can try our hand with Seattle or Memphis.
I actually think the first deal I proposed helps you guys quite a bit. You can get a solid defensive center in one of the deepest drafts for big men with the 22, get two projects in JJ and Fran, and one proven veteran in Hedo, who would help you guys quite a bit without duplicating talent. But I suppose if better offers are being bandied about, I can't complain.

I'm liking it. Being the 3rd team with Denver included also isn't bad.
