spurs go draft-n-stash, so i cant say its outside the realm of possibility. still dont think they look big here, but if you are just stashing the BPA, thats fine. plus, most of the top wing prospects that might have been there for them are all off the board. 2nd round is "blah" as usual, but thats to be expected.
Stupidity Should be Painful!

Plus, you can trade others and get a decent low post option in Chicago a lot easier than you can trade the young guys up front and consolidate the roster.
Yeah, and Beasley is too much like Deng. I'd be shocked if Chicago goes with Beasley.
Good pick for Minny to pick Lopez, but with McHale doing the picking, they probably make a huge mistake and pick Mayo.
Despite what every internet mock says, I can't see Gordon being picked over Love.
That's a perceptive pick at 15 by Phoenix. I think you nailed it.

Huh? If you switch Lopez and Mayo I and a good amount of other Wolves fans would agree.

I get that Mayo is the trendy guy because he comes with a hype machine, but Lopez should be the pick for Minny if they are smart. Minny has Foye and McCants already in place, but they desperately need another big man. Lopez and Jefferson would mesh very well with each other.
Lopez is the better prospect and fills the more pressing need for Minny. Why others do not see this as a slam dunk pick is beyond me. All I can figure is that somehow, even after a sick season and NCAA tourney, Lopez is still flying well below the radar.

I'm guessing those are the same fans that insisted Brewer was a good pick last year.
If Minny takes a guard in this draft, then they are becoming the Detroit Lions of the NBA. McCants, Foye, Brewer, Mayo...that is more than enough wings when Michael Doleac is your best center.

McCants would be traded. Brewer mostly plays sf. So having Foye and Mayo start with Jaric playing backup pg and Brewer filling in the left over minutes at sg. At sf Gomes and Brewer would share the minutes and Gomes could also play some pf. That seems balanced to me. A player such as Diop or Foster could be signed to help out at center.

Diop or Foster are great if you plan tyo spend the next decade in the lottery. Minny needs bigs desperately, and Jeff foster is sure not going to change that.
This sounds like Atlanta rationalizing Childress can play SG and Marvin Williams can play PF, when in actuality they were just drafting SF's every year.

The only thing with this draft is that there are so many centers projected mid to late 1st round. The wolves could trade up or see who falls to there 2 early second round picks to help fill the 5 position. I do like Lopez, but thing the defense and such that Mayo brings on the perimeter is too much for MN to pass up and there is a decent chance that Lopez doesn't even end up the top center in the draft. Mayo may not end up the top SG, but I am guessing there is a smaller chance of that (fewer 1st round SG prospects, etc.) then other centers passing up Lopez (many 1st round and early 2nd round bigs).

Interesting indea, but I tend to think the exact opposite. It is extremely risky to take one of those late 1st centers. Those guys all have a high bust factor. Lopez is proven and will not be a bust. There are however, a ton of solid SG's in that same range who could fill that need in Indy. Guys like Weaver, CDR, Rush, Walker, Foster, Forbes, Giddens...and the list goes on.
I like your thinking, but I think you take that proven post player when you can and roll the dice on 2 SG's early in the 2nd. Missing on a SG leaves you with McCants. Missing on a center leaves you with Doleac.
