He is a a very good player who could grow to being great. He hasn't stopped getting better. Did anyone here watch him in the FIBA games last summer? He was nearly unstoppable. I guess if the Nets get a top pick in the draft he could be bound for New Jersey. After this past off season and regular season, it seems GM's are more open to doing blockbuster trades for stars. It could be another interesting summer of trades.

yup i did watch the fiba games, he was the best player on the team and I thought he was going to have a breakout year. They would be crazy to trade him, especially if it is because his off the court antics considering they went out and got allen iverson who had similar problems at the beginning of his career.

That one aspect may be different, but the comparison was more about his scoring. King scored from everywhere on anyone. He created matchup problems as Melo does due his ability to score inside and out.

Carmelo and Paul Pierces games are identical. I don't know why I'm the only who sees that. They even have the same just good enough handle.

Same here. The other name that comes to mind is Vince Carter (mentally). He tends to make lazy decisions on offense (settling for outside shots instead of attacking the rim) and his conditioning doesn't inspire confidence...

I don't think he'll ever be a primary franchise player (similar to the other two).

Also (like both, but especially Walker), my gut tells me he'll be one of those guys that passes his prime way earlier than he should.

Really? I think Pierce is by far the better shooter and has better moves to get his shot off off the dribble. Around the hoop they're similar, but Pierce seems stronger while Carmelo might be a little quicker.

Carmelo is a younger Pierce except that he is bigger, faster and has a better outside shot. On the flip side he is less physical and less of a competitor. Although is game is more like Paul Pierce he is more like McGrady. He just doesn't love the game like Pierce and he just doesn't play to win much like McGrady.

Denver would be foolish to trade him. They really ought to blow it up like Ainge did and follow Ainge's game plan. Have a 3 year plan and get flexible to the point of being able to draft or trade when you are ready to make your splash.

First thing they should do is trade Iverson for cap relief and a solid role player or draft pick.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

If I was DEN I would just tweak the roster. Start with getting an assistant coach who knows about D.

Try and get something for NENE.Camby or the slob there Kmart. That something could jsut be salary relief of an actual PG.

When Marc Spears came to the Boston papers from the Denver papers he tried to be polite about it but made it pretty clear that the Denver lockerroom was a nightmare for him to deal with. ITs apparently a very unprofessional group with AI, Melo, K-mart, and JR Smith.
