When you look back it's funny how much hate he was getting from some fans during that finals run. Everyone calling him Dwhistle n ****. But you see D12 getting 15 FTA in game 5 and the magic fans complaining he should of had 20, see it with LeBron all the time, Kobe fans, etc.

Fans act like it's such a ridicolous amount that Wade gets sent to the line, when he only really averages another FTA a game from the 2nd person on the list. Considering he penetrates alot more then most superstars it doesn't look so ridiculous anymore, fans from other teams just don't see it though...

true..funny how Kobe averaged 16 free throws a game v. Utah...same as Wade against the Mavs.

Well that is very accurate, but theres more hate because wade is smaller than kobe, dwight, lebron, etc.... i get this when i run into alotta crybabies here in LA when i throw kobe s FTA being very very close to wade....truth of the matter is... wade just loves contact.

Kobe can only dream of doing what Wade did in the NBA Finals, Wade has abilities we haven't seen since Jordan retired. This is going to be a very interesting season. It actually reminds me of 1995 when Jordan got back in shape and proved people wrong.

Win a ring? Kobe has 3, and might end up getting his 4th before the post-season is over.

PLEASE do not come here and start controversy.

Maybe he was talking about the finals MVP, kobe has 3 rings as the sidekick with Shaq absolutely dominating, it's not the same Shaq that had 13 ppg in the finals. I don't necessarily agree with what he said but when Kobe tried to be the man they lost to the Pistons in 5.

I know where he was getting, but I don't think we need to go back there again.

'96, but yeah. Maybe Wade needs to film a bad Disney movie that involves some of his favorite NBA friends while working out in a private gym all summer...

Important to remember that Wade's performance came under a different set of rules than Jordan's or even some of Kobe's performances ...

Comparing penetrating guards pre- and post-rule-changes is comparing apples and oranges.

True. I wonder how players such as Wade, Paul and even LeBron would react to defenders bumping and hand checking all the way to the basket. I miss the days where scoring was so tough that it was actually an art to watch players do it.

Lebron would be fine; witness the Washington series, where they fouled him every time he breathed. Or against Detroit. Or against Boston.

He's a giant, built like a rock. Lebron's like, take Karl Malone, add handles and dirty athleticism and remove Stockton.

Paul would be fine, too, he's got great handles and is ridiculously quick. He's not doing anything today that Thomas wasn't doing in the 80s and early 90s, and he's not getting a lot of extra help from the refs, either. Paul only averaged 5 FTA/g this year, having gone down for the second straight year. Isiah averaged 6+ FTA/g for the first 6 years of his career and then settled in around 5 FTA/g.

Wade... would probably be like young Jordan, though he'd probably have to take another 3-5 shots a game to get to the 10, 11 FTA/g he posted pre-injury. He's got a similar progression on his jumper, he's about the same size (a little shorter but he's built more like Old Jordan than Young Jordan, who hit the league around 195; Wade was 212 pounds on draft night '03 and has gotten bigger since then).

I don't really think that is an outlandish expectation; I don't suggest Wade would average 30+ back in Jordan's era, though, I think realistically he'd be passing the way he does now and he'd probably drop down to 7, 8 FTA/g, which means he'd be in the low 20s.

But then, 22/5/7 is still nothing to sneeze at. You're talking nearly Glyde-like numbers there, and I'm sure Wade would step up the scoring in a few seasons for 24-28 ppg, just like Drexler.

he was abysmal most of the year defensively imo

hopefully he'll have enough burst and laterall quickness to actually stick with somebody this year..
