What's the best case scenario for Derrick Rose and his NBA potential?

Lockdown defense at the 1 and even at the 2 against a lot of guys, dynamic scorer who's size, strength, athletic ability would allow him to get to the rim seemingly at will, and has the court vision and passing ability to get the ball to the open man, or the ability to finish himself. He has a nice stroke, so I imagine he could become a guy like Dwyane Wade who is a great shooter inside the arch, but he might be a bit more consistent from down town.

could be the best rebounder at the PG position, the best man defender, maybe the best help defender, and possibly the best scorer at the 1 spot.

Yeah, kind of a Wade/Kidd/Payton hybrid--which is terrifying.

7 rebounds? Come on, he's got good size, but there is no chance he becomes a Jason Kidd type rebounder.

I'd say:

24 points on 48% shooting, 4 rebounds, 9 assists, 2 steals

I don't understand the comparisons to Kidd. They don't have much in common other than being big PGs who can't shoot. Rose doesn't have Jason Kidd type court vision or passing ability. Rose is more of a scorer than Kidd.

Both are extremely quick, have great hops, and a poor 3 point shot. i feel like his name hasnt been brought up yet, but i think its a much better comparison than kidd is

He could get 7 rebounds in a best case scenario EASY. Hell, Chris Paul gets 4 with Tyson Chandler and David West gobbling up boards.

He's not really a scorer though. He can score but he looks to pass first, almost to a fault.

A Payton/Kidd hybrid with even more athleticism/quickness than either would be a good example, and yea, that is terrifying. Thank god he'll be on the Bulls.

I say super Athletic Gary Payton but SUPER Quick as well.

I like him a lot. I don't see the same court vision in him that I see in Kidd/Paul/Williams but he's got a better combination of size and athleticism than any of them. He seems kind of like Baron Davis to me, hopefully he'll have a better injury track record but he has the same sort of athleticism and size combined with aggressiveness and above average distribution and great ball-hanling skills. He probably has better shot-selection but thats hard to tell from a guy coming out of college (I don't recall anyone considering Davis a chucker in college and looking at his UCLA numbers he shot a pretty high %).

I can see him easily winning rookie of the year by putting up 19pts, 7ast, 6reb, 2stl, on 50% shooting. Perimeter shot selection needs to change, but he is an all rounded player, I can see him becoming very good in the future, possibly at the level Paul/Deron are on right now.

He plays like a slightly bigger version of a less selfish ( when he wants to be) Stephon Marbury, their game is pretty similar.

prime wade was practically unstoppable and single handedly carreid the heat to a championship title... granted with some shotty reffing
(yes i said single handedly because in that finals... the diesel became the robin to wade's batman...)

Wade is only 26, he hasn't even reached his prime yet...

Sydney Moncreif meets Isaiah Thomas (the player, not the front office member, I hope).

He has the potential to not only be a lock down defender, but be one of those people who disrupts the entire offense too, similar to Moncrief.
