Who wants LeBron coming off picks and shooting deep 2s? I like the system they have now although they need another player who can improvise just to take the weight off LeBron's shoulders. But come fourth quarter can blend in the backround.
Why would you want someone to blend in the background in the 4th. The better lebron gets the more the defense will be focused on getting the ball out of his hands and into the scrubs. with a 2nd star this will not be as big of a problem.
article about why cavs should try and get davis.
http://www.sportingnews.com/blog/Hcole745/152326/
not sure how feasible this is or if those numbers he has in the article are right or w/e
Because aside from Kobe or maybe Melo there is going to be no one better then LeBron in the fourth. So therefore you don't want someone who needs the ball in their hands to be effective out their with LeBron or that just makes it harder on LeBron to find someone he can trust to knock down a contested shot and bail him out if need be.
If you read my post I suggest Baron Davis as well as an extreme example of someone I believe can do this. He just barely makes it as the competent star off the ball so LeBron can do his thing in the fourth.
It doesn't hurt that he also happens to be able to go unconsious with the ball in his hands as well.

i think the cavs have made a massive mistake in making this midseason trade for ben wallace. sometimes you just have to sit on your team and grind it out for a couple of years until an absoulute steal of a deal comes your way and just improve your team bit by bit each year by good drafting, good little trades and economical use of the MLE.
this way you build up a great chemistry between the players there and you continually build until that one deal or right free agent that comes your way or a rookie that explodes.
sometimes not making a trade is FAR greater than making one because i think the cavs are in a far worser position, they were never going to get through the east this year or next probably, this may hurt the fans but its true, you've got the Celtics and they are a great side but they have a 2 year window imo. So the cavs just have to bide their time and just keep building slowly and make very clever mid-long term moves.
the expectations are high and with this win now culture its difficult to get anyone to have some patience.
although i don't think you can win with Lebron unless you get a top30 player in alongside him.

I don't get your position here... The Cavs lost absolutely nothing in their trade.. That was the beauty of it..Ben's contract was the same length as Hughes' contract... I rather have Ben Wallace than Larry Hughes...0HeadAche0 wrote:i think the cavs have made a massive mistake in making this midseason trade for ben wallace. sometimes you just have to sit on your team and grind it out for a couple of years until an absoulute steal of a deal comes your way and just improve your team bit by bit each year by good drafting, good little trades and economical use of the MLE.

Hell, I rather have Delonte West than Hughes as well... Delonte is just as good of a defender, can handle the ball, shoot better, and has a higher basketball IQ..
Drew Gooden wasn't a major loss as well.. In fact, I wish Joe Smith was about 6 years younger cause I love his game a lot more than Drew's...
Wally sucks, but was basically just a throw in within the framework of the deals..
But here's the beauty about the Cavs FEB trade... They didn't take on any longer contracts than what they gave out, plus gained about 7 million dollars more in expiring money in the process...

I think Paul Gasol would fix the Cavs, but it's too late. He's been spoken for.
Jermain O'Neal would be nifty.
I don't think a PG is as useful as some have said cause Bron shares some of the PG duties.
Zach Randolph might be a good fit on the Cavs. He certainly can create his own shot.

What the hell is Dan Gilbert talking about? You either get a legit #2 for LeBron, or you be ignorant to the main need of the team, and you don't.
Can't deny that the Cavs offense is ordinary and limited, and it needs an addition of significant creativity - thus expansion and improvement of the offense.
Get that guy a good helper.

Some heart! No, courage. A brain?
No, seriously, they have LeBron and apparently in the East, that guy can take a mediocre team to the ECF most years I bet. So, they need to clean up their roster from the spare parts they seem to have since those moves they made for guys like Wallace and WAlly. Figure out who stays and who they want to build around. Is Big Z staying? Ben? Wally? Find the guys they want to keep, and offer the rest for a more complete roster.
They need floor balance on offense and keep some size for rebounding and defense. Figure out what kind of team they want, how they will attack on offense, who runs the offense most of the time (because we know LeBRon will run it at the end anyway). How to utilize LeBron on offense (ball handler, initiator, off-screens? spot up?).
And get him more talent period. Too many spare parts and not enough go-to guys. Every team in the final 4 has multiple options on offense. LeBron, as great as he is, is not going to win a title on his own. He needs a second and third Lt.

It's true, Zach was useless in NY and he wasn't helpful in Portland either.
but if you are going to be honest about it (rather than homeristic), Zach is a skilled player. Yes he's undersized. Yes, his D isn't great, but Zach is a good rebounder and he's a skilled post player with a jump shot out near the 3 pt line. He's not going to win any "chemistry of the year awards) as he's a questionable courtmate, but he is more talented than most of the PFs in the NBA.
And, alas, he's overpaid too. So he doesn't exactly have value, but I think Zach would help the Cavs. Maybe I'm wrong, I thought he would help the Knicks and he didn't. But there probably is some NBA team out there somewhere that Zach Randolph would make better. I've Seen Zach be impressive. He's not entirely useless.
