We're probably more in limbo this year than RJ's draft night...

note: I do like the melo idea...god help us if we go after Bargs...

If we get bargs I will stop watching Nets basketball.

IMO he is going to be Jeff Foster plus... not interested. I would look into trying to trade up with Milwaukee for a 2nd rounder plus cash and get Anthony Randolph.

I definitely agree. The current state of our team is just clueless by both fans and front office. Someone said before and I'll repeat that we just missed playoffs and had a horrible run after the Kidd trade. Our offense running through RJ has shown more production in him, but less as a team when that's happening along with VC being our biggest playmaker. Our identity on defense has no identity. I like Harris and all, but he isn't the type of guy to build a team around. We're near the salary cap to not make any moves in free agency, but we have the players to keep us not only out of playoffs, but even worse, just miss it.

He's the youngest player in the draft ( will be barely 19 on draft night ) , extremely skinny and thin . Has a lot of potentiel but he has to get a lot stronger and bigger.

We need to that trade with Denver. I doubt anyone in this draft would help us.

there's noone outside the top 2 can be trusted to become equal to melo. You can be optimistic, but nothing outside the top 2 is worth passing on him. We get Melo as good as he is at the age he is at. it's like winning the lottery.

As much as I like the Melo trade for Lebron bargaining, I think there will be more opportunites for the Nets.

I want no part of Barnyardi.

I am all for Barbosa. If to get him we have to take Diaw, I am all for it.

Barbosa, Diaw and 14 pick
for VC and whatever

Then

Package 1o and 14 picks for a BIG or BIG name.

I think the team wants to move RJ or Vince, but haven't been able to find any suitable deals so they're basically in limbo right now.

I think what makes it worse is that this draft is just so up in the air. It's so deep, and there are just so many similar prospects to be had from around the 7th draft pick down to about the 21st...

hahaha. saer sene.

and i wouldn't give VC for barbosa. too small and VC's playmaking is too valuable on this team.

Besides, i don't think there are any better available options than Melo at the moment.

RJ for Melo is a much better bargain than VC for Barbosa.

You can't consider Melo an option as if the Nets can choose to do that trade at any time. It is a rumor and the truth of it is unknown.

There is also disagreement about his natural position. Some think he is a SF or a SF/PF like Odom. IMO he is more of a face the basket PF like Bosh and David West.

Well, other than the Melo trade and other trade scenarios...how about something a little more realistic?

Let's say Thorn and Kiki use the picks. Who do we take and how does this affect the direction of the team? Do we have direction? Will we have it come draft?

^I don't consider Randolph a lesser prospect. I also might consider Speights at 10 too if I could see more of him.

Randolph is a good prospect . His body isn't anywhere near NBA level but he's got talent and skill . He's just so thin and skinny that scares me a bit.

Short Speights and Alexander workout video

The more I see of Speights the more I am liking him at #10. I'm also starting to actually like our draft position as well. Between Randolph, Speights, and Gordon I think one of them should be available.
