Do you guys think he is a bust or do you think he was just filled with bad luck? Do you guys think he will ever be good or a no show in the NBA pretty soon?

Just some questions that I want to know.

He's going to be alright. I hope the Sonics resign him to a 4 year deal 3.5 million per year.

as far as i see it, hes done... i think we might resign him for probably close to the minimum for one year if he is signed at all out of sympathy.

Robert Swift will rise like the phoenix! The phoenix is the bird that never truly ceases to live. He dies in flames and is reborn from the ashes - He rises up to the sun. The God of the sun, Apollo, stops to admire His beauty.

... And as Soy Bean Boy mentioned, we will retain His services at a very reasonable price.

A very reasonable price is 4 years at $3.5 million per?

Not likely.

More like a minimum salary contingent on making the team.

Honestly... I agree with DJ. I doubt we sign him though. I haven't even liked much what I HAVE seen of him which has been limited at best. I'm sure glad that we chose him over Jefferson without even working him out.

Swift is on thin ice at best. I know he's a berzerker, and steel does not bite his flesh. But it's just as likely that he ends up a bass player in a Scandinavian death metal band as an NBA center.
from ny, never been a fan of the knicks...

atheletic 7 footers don't come cheap. Someone will at least offer him 3 million a year.

There are alot of heathy centers in this draft. Swift is still an unproven project. He will be lucky to get a minimum salary offer from anyone. I would give it to him just because the Sonics have cap space and roster spots available. He might make a come back but it will take a season.

The Sonics won't be signing anyone this summer. Clay's got other financial worries on his mind.

I'd like to see the kid get a small one deal just to see if he can stay healthy. But I simply don't see it.

There is no questioning the kids work ethic he has done everything he needed to do to transform his skinny body into "one bad dude" but he simply can't get his knee right.

Since the Sonics could use a defensive Center he is an option if he can get up and down the court.

Of course if the Sonics don't sign him the T-Wolves will and draft Mayo and Swift will go on to become a 8 time all-Star next to Al Jeff.

Any GM who offers that much should be fired.

The Sonics passed on A Jefferson to take R Swift. Sund deked out by the Celtics. A Jefferson awarded to the Wolves by the Celtics as a thank you for their championship run. R Swift returns to health & becomes a dominating big, along side A Jefferson, with the Wolves.

The irony of this future travesty is too compelling for it not to become true.
