The thing is, there is so much that you can do to be "in on it" that isn't really that bad.

Say, for instance, you are Gabe Pruitt. You walk into the trainers room looking for the i-Pod nano you lost, and what do you see but Paul Pierce in agonizing pain on the trainers table.

Boom, Pruitt calls his boys back in Southern California... "Man this sucks, P looks hurt to me, I hope he can play!"

His boys, always thinking, rush out to the casino and drop 10K each on the Pistons. Has Pruitt done a single thing to make the Celts lose? No. But has he helped people make money, and gotten somewhat involved? Yes.

I do think that all sorts of players, trainers, coaches, refs are in on it to some extent. I just don't think that extent is literally throwing games. If I'm not mistaken, Donaghy bet a lot of over/unders...which just means that to make his side hit, all he had to do was swallow the whistle, or blow it a ton, depending on the side.

^^I think it's got to be more serious than that. And I love how the league took the Roger Clemens stance of "he's only saying stuff to save his ass". That's bunk. Donaghy, like McNamee, knows he cannot avoid jail time and has nothing to lose by unloading it all.

Stern's worst nightmare...let's see how it all plays out...
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

you guys all make great points and things I have thought about the playoffs and abc/espn.

not to mention it seems like none of the analysts seem to know anything about pierce's game.

its a joke!

Last night Van Gundy was once again the only one arguing some of the crap calls that were made. And he was right.

The only thing I like about Jeff Van Gundy is that he calls out the refs when they blow calls.

Yes, but he's also pretty funny and his back and forth with Mark Jackson is enjoyable. They call a good game...Mike Breen kinda sucks though. He's a total frontrunner, too....rooted for the Hawks when they were pushing the C's, then rooted for the Cavs and swooned over everything LeBron did, now he's gushing about Detroit.

It's true, pay attention, anytime anyone on the C's has a nice shot or move, he's like "shot by Garnett", but if LeBron gets a dunk it's all "OH MY GOODNESS INCREDIBLE AMAZING BLAH BLAH"

I just mute it and put tunes on in the background!

 Well, that's one strategy. I actually don't mind that team--Breen's alright, and you have to admit that one dunk LeBron had on KG was pretty awesome...though the "NO REGARD FOR HUMAN LIFE" line was lame. What is LeBron? Hitler? Stalin? Pol Pot? Relax Mr. Breen!

Exactly. I think Mike Breen had to change his panties after that dunk...both the front AND back were soiled...

I don't remember...even if it was, Fratello had been swooning like a schoolgirl over the Cavs the whole series, too.
