Trade Turkoglu Now? (Trade Proposal)

Post#1 » by freakty81 » Wed May 21, 2008 9:13 pm

Guys Orlando would be stupid not to trade him.

High Value right now
#8 gives Orlando there PF they need to move Rashard to SF

No reason to keep him

#8 grab Darrell Arthur
#22 grab Brandon Rush

and get Desmond Mason in the deal to give energy at the 2 or 3

Edited title for clarity.

Turkoglu lost the "streak" handle and became not-certain-for-trade in the process.

There is a quite good chance that GM Smith will play a similar team net year as last year. Lewis will be more set in the system. Howard and Nelson will be less TO prone. Battie will be back. And the MLE will add talent somewhere to the roster.

The Magic are TOs and FT% away from being a 60 win team with the current roster. That's tough to tinker with.

If it means moving Lewis to his natural position and strongly upgrading one of our weaker spots, then I'm interested.

Trade him for David Lee so we can have two Dwight Howards!!!!

untouchable:
howard
lewis*

most likely staying, but tradeable:
turkoglu
nelson
battie
gortat
cook

coming back through FA:
dooling
evans

probably leaving either through trade, FA, buyout:
bogans
foyle
augustine
arroyo
garrity
redick

*=lewis' contract makes him pretty much untradeable

that's 9 players that are most likely to be back...leaving 6 spots open maximum. with those 6 spots we have 1 draft choice (#22), leaving 5 spots open. with fran saying he would like to come over (how convenient, he wants to play for us when we're good, go figure), and if he does come over that leaves us with 4 spots. 2 of the spots will be used for the MLE and/or LLE, leaving 2 spots. those 2 spots will be the result of trading bogans and redick along with a pick. one of those spots may be udonis haslem, while the other might be his miami teammate, jason williams.
I live rent free in your head. You know who you are :D

Not changing this sig until Magic win a championship. Started 6/26/2015.

instead of taking Arthur take Westbrook. My reasoning is we need size at that guard spot if we are going to beat the pistons and celtics. Come to think of it everyone's PG is bigger we can't miss the boat guys. westbrook is the next monta ellis and Arthur is foul prone and we don't need another bad free throw shooter.

Here it starts.
Basketball is driven by three principles:

1) Movement 2) Application of fundamentals 3) Predictability

Nelson at the 1, Turk moves to the 2, Shard to the 3, Battie to the 4, Dwight at the 5 and trade Reddick and our 1st to move up and grab Westbrook and we win 60 games as stated.

THEN

Turk leaves at the end of the season because we can't afford his salary demands. But let's run one more year with Turk before we break up this core. We are NBA finals bound with Turk Shard and Battie at the 2, 3, and 4.

Forget Redick doesn't have the value since he doesn't play trade Bogans instead a known value.

ofcourse, thats an amazing trade for us
During the Wizards' rout, a heckler yelled at new Knick Steve Francis, "Hey Stevie, Where are you going next?" Francis turned to the fan and quipped, "To the bank."

Unless you trade Turk for an all-star, you are going to have a very unhappy coach. You guys can keep posting all these proposals all you want. But Van Gundy has said that unless they get a shockingly great player, that Turkoglu probably is going to be staying right here with the Magic. And he said trading him for a draft pick would be a "total crapshoot.'' Does he have to say that a couple hundred times before you believe it?

And no matter how many times you post this another thread will be started about trading Hedo.
You just can't stop people from posting their pipedreams. A lot of pipedreams being posted this year.

Yeah, that's my point. They post these threads without taking into consideration at all what the head coach who they say they admire so much says they should do.

Hedo isnt really "as good as gone" but I will tell you this...If Minny Seattle or Memphis were interested in Turk+ for their draft picks + a player, I would probably do it...

I mean let's get real Mayo/Lopez/Bayless either one of these guys would probably make a pretty large impact...and trying to get back another serviceable player to bolster another lacking area...
