Seems to me that the same logic that applies to Gallinari, applies to Alexander as well. If a team picking after the Pacers wants him badly enough and doesn't think he will be available at their pick, then maybe it would be worth the Pacers' while to work a trade.

Now, there is probably no way in real life that Gallinari will still be on the board at #11, so it's likely a moot point with him. But Alexander might be the #2 small forward in this draft (I think he probably is) and could very well be available. So Alexander might be where the trade considerations come in, if the Pacers are interested in trading down in the draft (or trading out of the draft entirely). But obviously we'd have to get something better for him than we could get if we just kept the #11 pick.

I think above all else, Bird needs to keep an open mind with this draft. No one is off limits, throw around names, ideas, think outside the box, listen to offers from other teams, keep an ear open for ideas from his basketball people (i.e. Morway), etc. I really think this is an important draft/offseason for the franchise, and it certainly doesnt help that the two best prospects are coming to the East, and one of them being our division rival. At the very least, get some semblance of a long-term plan to get this team contending again. With the way Bird is talking, I really think he is still under the impression that this team could compete with one lotto pick and less injuries.

I'm going with Spreights. Although the other Big Men on the poll have potential.....for me...we need the most NBA-Ready player....that's Spreights to me. I don't want to gamble then potentially lose...we can't afford to.
