i am POSITIVE that on nba.com you used to be able to easily find the history of who a player was traded for and what the deal was in his player profile (i believe under bio)
but now it seems to be a crapshoot as to whether a player has that information on his bio. does anyone know where this can readily be found?
also... does the new "BA" stand for "blocked attempts"?

I know there used to be a great site that listed pretty much every trade in the history of the league. I remember because I used it to look up the World B. Free trade we made from a thread we had on here. I can't remember the name of the site though.

Takes me back to the days when we had Clarence Weatherspoon routinely leading the league in that category, good times.
Yes and Kenny Thomas was another player we had with that dubious distinction.
This is one of those stats that the analysts and announcers always had access to and would drop every once in a while when talking about the players who lead the league in the category. Elton Brand also lead the league in this stat. Jason Smith would no doubt lead the entire NBA in this stat if he ever becomes a 30 minute player.
Jason Smith needs a nickname. Jason "Gator Arms" Smith? Jason 'The Lizard' Smith? Jason "T-Rex" Smith?
