GMs are supposed to talk up everybody on their team in order to get the best possible return if they choose to part with them. Chicago should definitely go Beasley, but if they don't then I'm still one happy dude.

Riley is fantastic at misinformation. A master. It's the reason he has been so successful on so many levels in the NBA. If info comes out that the Heat like Rose then I think Beasley is the choice. Kaman was supposed to be the guy a few years back and they take Wade. Riley isn't going to show you his hand. That's why he mentioned possibly trading the pick. He wants to see what some crazy team will give up to grab a prized possession.

It's the way the game goes and everyone should realize that. Don't take anything at face value.

Yeah i always felt that way about riley too... he s a mastermind... i cant seem to understand what he s ever doing untill he does it.

Riley has had some of the best drafts and made some of the best trades this league has seen.

Caron Butler with the 10th pick? Nice.

Wade with the 5th? Even better.

Shawn Marion for Shaq? Are you freaking kidding me!!!

Riley is a genius and we are lucky to have him.

Haslem at Center makes no sense.

But a Marion trade, for Kirk Hinrick and Nocioni, might not be a bad fit.

Kirk, Wade, Nocioni, Beasley, Jeff Foster
Banks, Cook, D Wright, Haslem, Blount

Banks and Haslem only strong players of the bench.

But not a bad reference point to start a team with.

Make some adjustment. Maybe even Joel Anthony development could swallow any chance of Blount playing.

Kirk and Nocioni have a nastyness about their game, that I kind of like, and the Heat will get back to playing some more physical Defense.

Cook has the potential to be a good bench player. His 3-pt shot is dirty.

As in not good.

Cook has shown that he is wildy inconsistent. One good game for every 9 bad. He's young though, and his game isn't going to adapt quickly. He'll become a good player, though it might be a few seasons before we can count on him.

I think it's gonna come down to workouts. But, because of the marketing factor involved with Rose I think Beasley would have to blow them away. If he measures at a legit 6'9".5-6'10" and 240 and has some good workouts he'd could sneak in there. Either way, we have the easiest pick in the draft.

Agreed. I just hope Riley exercises it, rather than trading it away.

BTW sometimes we forget how young these guys are. Beasley will play the 1st half of the season as a teenager. Rose turns 20 right before the season. Good thing Riley isn't coach still...

Well look at the bright side, Even if Riley wants to trade the pick, He would have to wait till we Select. So if there is a surprise and Rose is there we can Select him and call off the deal. Also Work out of miami is that Marion is really thinking about Opting out. So if he does we can go after Emeka Okafor or Gilbert Arenas.

Gilbert A
Wade
Dorrel
Beasley
Diop(Sign Plz)

I don't think it would be a problem. Whenever he's had a good NBA ready pick, he's played them.

How do we sign Diop? We don't have the MLE if we're under the cap, and we won't have enough cap space to sign both Diop and Gilbert, much less resign Dorell.

Lets see...

Wade 14.41
Blount 7.35
Udonis 6.576
Banks 4.18
#2 pick 3.6 (4.32 if signed)
Smush 2.4
Cook 1.27

Everyone else renounced
Cap holds 2.21

Almost exactly 42 million. If the cap was to go up the exact same amount it did last year it would be set at 58,125,000

Leaving us a little over 16 million... Yes that will do nicely...

That will do if we're only looking to sign Gilbert. He has us signing Diop and resigning Dorell. How do we do all of that?

idk, I was really just running the #'s. While we're dreaming how about...

Baron Davis/???
Wade/Cook
Beasley
Haslem
Blount/Zo (for the minimum, leave my pipe dream alone)

If we could somehow in this pipe dream convince Baron to take 12-13 to start, that would leave us another 3-4 mil to go after someone else.

Bulls fan here, It's pretty high that the media and Bulls fan want Rose, also we could use a low post guy, but Gooden actually did good for us last yr and Paxson has tried to get Gooden for the past 3yrs.

Also who will get Beasley the ball, we have no true PG for that. Rose will make Gordon,Deng,Thomas, Noah and Gooden all better.

Also you can't pass on a PG like Rose and the Buzz he would bring is just too much to pass up on.

I really seeing us taking Rose, leaving you all with Beasley
