I don't think the Hawks have a blockbuster move in them this summer.
They will probably try to tweek the roster with one or 2 limited vets and continue to play Woody ball.

Marbury = no
Curry = no
Chandler, I have nothing against personally.
#6 just outside the projected players I have interest in, means paying top dollar for a player that might be around at #10. Unless someone's stock skyrockets.
I'd move on from this and look to improve via other moves.

I love NY fans and their trades.
Pal, you'd have to take Curry out and leave the 6th IN for us to consider this.
My mother told me, she said, "Elwood, to make it in this world you either have to be oh, so clever or oh, so pleasant." Well, for years I was clever; I recommend pleasant.

Marbury is a very big expiring. If he contributes positively good, if not you bury him. Curry is a legit 7'0" scoring machine. He can play if he ever wanted to. Chandler looks like a good back up SF for a few years and we get the #6. Love or Mayo will be there.
If Curry panned out in ATL, combined with the #6 means we get the better of the deal. It all hinges on him.
Marbury is almost irrevelent in the deal except for his big expiring.
Curry / Andersen
Horford / Love / Jones
Smoove / Chandler / Richardson
JJ / Chil / Mario
Marbury / Acie
That is a very good team if Curry can play the C as an offensive post threat. Horford and Smoove can help on D. Andersen and Love backing up the bigs is huge, then we'd still have Jones on the bench.
Marbury could put us over the top or just be a $20M expiring. Acie should slid into his role as our starting PG.
It's worth looking into at least.

I'd rather have Marbury than Bibby and I think the Knicks would be willing to put something in nice make that swap as well just because Marbury is probably done there. After that its just trying to find the right amount of compensation. If I were the GM I think i'd be looking at Marvin and Bibby for Marbury, Balkman, and the #6.

Just wondering...why would you want Marbury over Bibby? Is it because he is a larger expiring(to get something along with him) or is because of basketball reasons? I always thought Marbury was better on both ends than Bibby in their primes but he's had two consecutive season ending injuries and he's also crazy on top of it.

I think that Marbury is just the better player and a lot of his problems stem from being stuck with a terrible franchise. Its buying a player when his stock is down. And where Bibby's value comes pretty much entirely from scoring, Marbury actually puts up decent assist percentages. I'm not sure that Bibby will ever be a top flight scorer again but I think Marbury has the potential to put more of a focus on distributing.
And I would love to get Marbury in a situation where he wants to prove to everyone that it was Isiah's fault in NY and not his. Marbury is just one of those players that I think should THRIVE with the handchecking rules, but the Knicks instead tried to focus on the low post game. Marbury is wasted dumping the ball into the post.

if their is anyway the Hawks can get the 6th pick and select DeAndre Jordan and only give up Marvin, it would be too good to be true, regardless of any player or contract the Hawks would have to take on.

I don't get the DeAndre Jordan love. He is Solo with a bigger frame(meaning he can probably put on more weight...maybe). He is just as raw offensively and only scores on dunks and putbacks, a freakishly athletic guy...I don't get it. What exactly is he bringing to the table that Solo isn't? You might as well sign SOLo to a near minimum contract if you want tall, raw, athletic bigs.

Rip Solo is 23 and still has an EXTREMELY low BBIQ. He picks up more fouls than rebounds.. If he was 19 or 20 we would have much higher hopes for him...don't you think? Even a rookie Josh Smith had more court awareness than Solo. His frame is also very weak on top of it.
Jordan's numbers look weak on the surface but look up Okafor, Horford,and Aldridge's freshman numbers. On the other hand you can look at a player like Chris Taft who would have been a guaranteed lottery pick had he left as a freshman but decided to come back and went second round. If Jordan was productive his freshman year then he'd be in the same tier as Rose and Beasley. He is a boom or bust pick. I would not be thrilled with a Marvin for Jordan swap(as opposed to Bayles/Mayo)but people need to understand that you have to take a risk to get good center unless you want to take in the draft for Oden/Yao/Howard.
