How can the bulls consolidate all the talent they have?
One of the biggest issues after the midseason that sent Ben Wallace packing, was the lack of playing time to go around. At points in the season there were games where Tyrus, Thabo, and Duhon were not played at all. Other players such as Ben Gordon and Kirk Hinrich has games in which they played less then 20 minutes.
Now that they bulls have landed the Number 1 pick in the the log jams are going to get even worse. Paxson is going to have to make some moves in order to balance out the roster.
As it stands, the bulls have 10 players who should be playing 25+ minutes a game. (left duhon off the list bc there is absoltly no chance of him being in Chicago next season.)
Hirich
Gordon
Gooden
Deng
Noconi
Hughes
Thomas
Sefalosha
Noah
Rose/Beasley
1st they need to decide what they are going to do with the backcourt. Sefalosha will be on the team next season without a doubt. He is the closest thing to untouchable on the team. If they bulls draft Rose they must move 2 of other 3 guards. If they dont draft Rose then expect either Gordon or Hughes to be on the move.
As for the SF, its seems like a lock that Luol Deng will get resigned and play a major role on this team. This means the bulls much be trying to move Noconi this summer. Noconi is a very good player, but there is no longer a role for him on this team. If we draft Beasley, Noconi becomes usless on our team. Also the bulls will have Sefalosha, Thomas, and posibly Hughes who can play the SF.
As of right now its seems like the bulls really like all 3 of the big guys on the roster. Gooden is the back to the basket player that the bulls have wanted for years, and Tyrus and Noah are still on rookie contracts and still just scraching the serface of there potential. I would be very big suprised to see any of these 3 players traded this summer. (Ty Thomas would def be staying around if Rose is drafted.)
That leaves the bulls with 3-4 players on the team that must be moved this summer in order to balance out the rosters.
The only question is how to do it??
assuming the bulls will try and move Hirich, Hughes, Gordon, and Noconi this summer, what are the bulls options?

Step one is finding a coach. The need stability there first and for most before you start sending guys packing from a not existant system.
The selected coach will be a domino effect. The draft selection will become clear from there and then will come the moves accordingly.
I think Portland is a team in a similar situation and the two do have pieces the other could use.
Seattle is loaded with future picks. If the Bulls act like they have in the past they will ship their log jam off for picks so they have the same problem 3 years down the road.
Whatever happens it is a nice problem to have again.

What they need to do is someway find a way to find a superstar player and a legit number 1 scoring threat. They don't have one.
I see Rose is a top 3 PG in the future, but not a legit no1 scorer, while I see Beasley is a legit no.1 scoring option.
They have very good depth and some pretty darn good role players that play good hard defense. What's holding them back is not having a Kobe, KG, Duncan, Wade, LeBron type player.

Trade Hinrich to Portland for LaFrentz(expiring) and #13.
Trade #13 and Hughes to a team for an expiring deal.
BOOM.
Raps would trade an expiring for that: 3-Way
Portland out--LaFrentz+13
Portland In-- Hinrich
Chicago Out--hinrich + Hughes + 13
Chicago In-- Lafrentz+Rasho
Toronto Out-- Rasho
Toronto In-- Hughes+ 13

That idea has been floating around on the Bulls board, but I hardly find it realistic. The 13th pick isn't going to fetch anyone a starting caliber player unless someone slips. Taking on Larry Hughes and $26M to acquire the 13th overall selection isn't going to be attractive for a lot of teams.

I'm very puzzled on why Toronto would do this. I mean, I absolutely love it for Chicago. But Toronto takes on a considerable chunck of more salary just for Hughes and 13th?
Hell yes as a Bulls fan. But somehow, I very much doubt Toronto does this.

I think that's a solid trade for Toronto. They might even package 13 and 17 to move into the top 7 or 8 and draft their future star SF from Italy.

I'm not going to say anything.
But if Toronto is up for that deal, tell them to have Colangelo contact Paxson immediately after we pick Rose in june.

Fantastic deal. One of the more realistic trades floated so far that the Raps have to seriously consider. Hughes isn't a perfect solution, but he'd be an upgrade, considering also.....

It would be a pretty successful summer if the Raps are able to move up in the draft and acquire Hughes for Rasho's expiring. Although, Colangelo is on record stating that Gallinari would be a "hard sell" after the Bargnani affair, I still think adding his type of skills can't be a bad thing for a roster so thin on talent.

One trade that could work would be.
Kevin Martin
for
Gordon
Noah
the kings diversify their talent because they need to fill more holes and the bulls solidfy the SG spot for a long time to come.
Bulls would then look at doing a deal that would move Nocioni and Seflosha for another front court player. This would allow hinrich to come off the bench and back up both the PG and SG spots.
Rose
Martin
Deng
Tyrus
Gooden
that would be one of the best backcourts ever. They would certainly be one of the fastest.

Eh, Gordon just came from a bad year in contrast to Martin that is coming from his best. IMO a Noah-level prospect has to be included in the deal. Martin is getting better every year. He is a gym rat and has said that he will work on his weaknesses over the summer...I wont be surprised of a statline of 26/5/3 next year.
I have to think long and hard if the deal comes on to the table...Martin is that good of a player.
