Tyson Chandler
Watching the Lakers/Spurs series has me thinking that Chandler's defense is vastly underrated. After going ape**** on the Suns, Duncan was almost a nonfactor in more than one games of the Hornets series. Now, against the Lakers, he goes ape**** again.
So, how would you rate and rank Chandler defensively?

Tyson did a great job on Duncan, I think Duncan has alot of respect for him now.
Interestingly hes blocking less shots now than he used to, but seems to be a better all round defender than in previous years, he still gets into foul trouble too often, and when he does the Hornets really suffer. I'd say before his career is over he will make an all defensive team

+1
Chandler is an excellent defender - but he wasn't stopping Duncan 1 on 1. Tyson's reach does give Duncan issues, but that second defender certainly helped.
He's done a great job cutting down on fouls since leaving Chicago - thats his most impressive improvement in my mind.

Tyson was wonderful against Duncan, did a tremendous job 1 on 1, and gave him fits.
That said, if you are judging how good he is based on this series, you're going to have an extremely high view of his defense, but the fact is, it wasn't this great all year.

He's never been a big defensive stat guy, he doesn't even lead his team in blocks per game. His strength has always been his man to man post D where he uses his length and athleticism to alter shots, which is arguably more important than just plain weakside defense.

The Hornets DOUBLED Tim Duncan on the catch time after time and let the Spurs shooters burn them from behind the arc, the Lakers are primarily single covering Duncan so they do not suffer the same fate that the Hornets did...
Only when Tyson was in foul trouble, otherwise late in the game, he was guarding Duncan straight up, and stifling the hell out of him.
Even the shots Duncan hit were so incredibly tough, he was very out of rhythm.

Chandler did a spectacular job on Duncan even in one on one scenarios. Made things extremely rough on him.
