This is how i look at it. Many people got upset because Kobe cheated on his wife back in 2003. This is what i tell the ones who i know personally.
Do you have a lot of options? Maybe thats why its easy for you to be faithful.
Now imagine being in position where attractive females that you never had a chance with are now throwing themselves at you. It wouldn't as easy to stay faithful.
It's easy for a beer belly father working at the post office to stay faithful because his options are limited.

This is the biggest pile of sh*t I've ever heard. This is coming someone from the middle east, where the divorce rate is practically 0.
Your uninformed, and greatly at that. Hey, you incoherent, uninformed (expletive), guess 'what?'. And by guess 'what?', I mean the punishment of adultery in the middle east.
Answer: Being pelted...to death.
Thanks, try again.
...oh and try googling "adultery" in Asian cultures as well (where the divorce rate it also very very low). You'll find they don't take it very well there either.
Why don't you try googling adultery yourself. In middle eastern countries the penalty for adultery is death. However it is heavily slanted towards women.

Al-Muwaizri, on the other hand, said the Court deals with a multitude of infidelity cases daily besides reports filed at the police stations, which often end up in divorce. Disclosing that KuwaitI'm so tired of the typical......

I don't know everything there is to know about Taiwanese, but people from China and Japan have quite different views from what I can tell. The only two females that I've had relationships with (both live in Taiwan) are Christian and swear up and down by it, so they have been pretty much Westernized. I used to joke with them that I'm more "Eastern" than they are because I found "Eastern" philosophies more interesting and pure (as in, better morals), although I'm in no way a religious person.
bballmaniac27 wrote:I mean, why get married in the first place? what's the point? IMO, once you get married you should be committed to your partner.Anyways you're entitled to your opinions, everyone has their own moral values.
Because not all people base their marriage on sex? Some cultures feel that family (reproducing, something required for life to continue) is more important than love, for example, so having an extramarital affair is seen as appeasing a mans appetite. As long as the man (or woman) returns to take care of the family, then there isn't any damage done.
Yes, things are different in Western culture, in general, but that doesn't mean that all people have to subscribe to that same train of thought.

I agree there not good excuses, but the average man doesnt have beautiful women throwing themselves at him on a regular basis.
If it were me, id just stay single and get the single life out of my system because i wouldn't want to put my family through that.

People don't always get married out of love. You ever check to see when someone's kid was born and when they got married. Some guys marry because it's the "right" thing to do.
A lot of people get married too young. I think there should be a law that you can't get married until you are at least 25.....

My opinion?
You think you're free to do whatever you want, regardless of if it's not destructive or harmful to society in any way, shape, or form? Guess again.
People are forced to follow the rules, no matter how ridiculous those rules are. Did you know that it's illegal for me to carry wire-cutters in my pocket in the city of Austin where I live? I think you get the point. That's an extreme example, but the point is that people are not as free as they think they are, but that's another debate entirely, so I won't take it any further.

Why is anyone surprised? Kobe has always struck me as a guy with a huge ego who does what he wants to do. Good for him that he has all the talent in the work and a great work ethic, otherwise no one would care about him. I know I wouldn't wanna be his friend even with all his money. He's very selfish...

This site busted out the Matt Leinart pictures of him partying, and the Boris Diaw pictures of him with various women throughout the season. I wouldn't be surprised if they did have the pictures..
Ha! So that's the link. They specialize in Arizona athletes, arguably the state that hates Kobe and the Lakers the most. I wouldn't be surprised if they are the same ones who started the Kwame Brown rape accusations in the middle of the Lakers-Suns playoff series. Coincidence? Psh....

Holy sh*t just when I thought Laker fans couldn't be any more homerish Kobe jock riders than they already are they prove me wrong. I swear to God, Kobe could hump a goat on live tv and you Kobe lovers would make excuses as to why it's ok and then back it up with a link on the internet that says people in some place like Nepal or Mongolia hump goats, we Americans are just behind the times.
Do you realize how **** stupid you guys sound???

Why do you say things like "Holy sh*t" and still capitalize the word God in the next sentence?

I don't understand what the big deal is? Do you know how many basketball players cheat?? It sucks for the wives but in all honesty. It's almost understood when dating a pro athlete now a days. It's one of the perks of being a star.
On a sidenote though. I don't know if this was true or not. But when I saw Kobe playing lost and un enthused in the first half yesterday I thought this might of been the reason. Thank God he woke up though.

And been with the same women for a long time too.
Even if you were nailing Jessica Alba, after a year or so, you'd become bored and want to chase new pu$$y.
It's in a man's DNA. Especially men with options. And an athlete with money has tons of options.
Next thing I'll hear that raping is in a man's DNA. I think you are confusing a man with human garbage

... and that was just from the 1st link I found. I've talked to several Chinese women (in China, not the Americanized ones) that follow the same train of thought. There are plenty of women in the Asian culture who feel that extramarital affairs actually strengthen a relationship.
Anyway, what I stated is based directly on people who I've interacted with, not on statistics or laws. If 9 out of 10 people are stating that "cheating" is not that big of a deal, then who the hell am I to disagree?
Go get stoned.
WTF? You must be talking to some weird Chinese girls. And considering the first link you got has no crediblity to it's statistics or research whatsoever, I'm very inclined to think you're talking out of your ***.
I can get you a ton of links where adultery is considered a major social problem in China. Just because most Eastern nations have a patriarchal, male-dominated society, doesn't mean that they see adultery any differently than we do.
And the fact that you're justifying a guy for cheating on his wife, especially considering that he knows that he's in a media spotlight where his negatives are amplified by the fact that "other cultures view adultery differently" is quite pathetic.
Not that I care, I have plenty of friends who have cheated on their girlfriends, and it's pretty clear his wife is a gold-digger.
