O.J. Mayo has terminated his relationship with Calvin Andrews and Bill Duffy Associates, ESPN has learned.
Mayo's mother, Alisha Mayo, said in a statement: "As a family, we decided to modify O.J.'s inner circle and allow him to solely focus on improving his game without distraction in a structured, disciplined environment."
Mayo will look for a new agent in the wake of an "Outside The Lines" report that Mayo took money from a man who got it from BDA.
I say good for the kid, he did the right thing, and if he did it with the right intentions and everything being on the 'up and up' then i might say im actually proud he made this decision because it shows hes got some character as an athlete.
Obviously he made a mistake as a young guy, but this reminds me of when a straight A student goes and asks a professor for a recommendation letter and he/she get a very boring 'this student got an A and is a good student' type thing, as opposed an average student 'this student struggled hard to earn a B in this class and was not doing well in the beginning and made some mistakes but showed perseverance and with hard work turned his grade around this semester.'
Most people will like the 2nd student more because he showed he made mistakes but owned up and was able to turn it around and showed 'perseverance' So my point is this could make him look attractive to scouts/gms instead of it before being a dark cloud or something negative.
