u guys should try to offer the #10 and the #21 to seattle for the #4. u would prolly need to throw in maybe one person, so marcus williams, josh boone, or nenad krstic. that way, u guys could get a quality pf or w/e u guys want to draft

i agree, i'd rather trade up into the top 5 so we can use the pick in a trade instead of wasting time drafting two guys at 10 and 21 that wont be ready to contribute.

Contribute to what? We were not even a playoff team last year. There is no real reason to trade the picks away unless there is a great deal out there.

Sonics fan here. I was thinking about the same thing as far as a trade between our two teams. Seattle fans are split on Mayo and Bayless so whichever one Minnesots leaves that's who the Sonics get(providing Minnesota doesn't take Lopez).
But the way I see it the Sonics have more holes that need filling than just pointguard, plus they need to put together a team that can grow together since they're in a rebuilding mode.
Therefore I don't personally mind trading the #4 and #24 pick for the #10 and #21. But I think that Sean Williams would have to be included and Seattle sending out a contract to make Seattle go for it. We have 3 centers already, but two of them are injured and the other, Petro, is more of an offensive power forward than a defensive stopper. Damien Wilkens is a combo shooting guard/small forward that Seattle wouldn't mind moving.
This is how I see it from Seattle's standpoint. It appears that both Durant and Jeff Green will shift over one position next season with Green moving fulltime to power forward(he reminds people of David West with not as good of an outside shot) and Durant at small forward. Williams goes between the two to alter shots, block shots, and rebound. If he can score a little it is a bonus. At #10 Seattle picks DJ Augustine, Durants college teamate. Although on the shortside, he is built strong and has good skills. Think of a much better version of Jameer Nelson. At #21 hopefully Brandon Rush will still be there, or they can trade up a notch to get him using any of their 4 second round picks.
A fivesome of Augustine, Rush, Durant, Green, and Williams, while definitely too young to win alot of games, could grow as a group.
Am I out of line with this from the Nets standpoint?

I'm not sure i want to trade S. Will already because i personally think Swift and Diop will be gone next year . Diop won't be resigned ( he just wants too much money and we need some offense from our big position ) and Swift hopefully traded and even if Swift stays it's pretty clear he's worthless .

Stro came a year too late. He could've been a human highlight reel, if JKidd were still here.

I'd be happy to do it however giving away S.Williams is a toughie we will happily give you guys Marcus Williams though.
Either way if Seattle wont want Marcus Ill be happy to trade Sean because even though the kid has some AMAZING potential under Lawrence Frank a dollar and potential can buy you a cup of coffee.

I'd be willing to give up Marcus, a fat guy who might do better with a new coach and quality minutes starting at the point, before i'd give you guys Sean in that type of deal.

I think Harris is valued here greatly but would you be interested in moving up to the third pick and sending the wolves the tenth pick and Harris. Obv Minnesota has to add sal but a base deal of that. Maybe even str8 exprings for harris. Maybe one of our first picks in the second round added as well.

What logic does it make to include Harris in any deal for a top 5 pick???
These people need to actually understand the status and situation the team is in before they come to this board and asking if we'd be willing to give up our starting PG

Yeah, I think I have to agree with SIC here....the words "bust", "garbage" or "uncoachable" would flow a lot smoother in a sentence with the word "McCants" than the word "greatness".

Let's say Thorn and Kiki use the picks. Who do we take and how does this affect the direction of the team? Do we have direction? Will we have it come draft?
I think the Nets have multple plans/ideas going on right now, as well keeping themselves in touch w. fellow owners on who is available...so you play it by ear...and until the clock goes up for the #10 draft pick, I dont think we're really gonna know...

I definitely agree. The current state of our team is just clueless by both fans and front office. Someone said before and I'll repeat that we just missed playoffs and had a horrible run after the Kidd trade. Our offense running through RJ has shown more production in him, but less as a team when that's happening along with VC being our biggest playmaker. Our identity on defense has no identity. I like Harris and all, but he isn't the type of guy to build a team around. We're near the salary cap to not make any moves in free agency, but we have the players to keep us not only out of playoffs, but even worse, just miss it.
well said...
