Van Gundy is right: we have a low BB IQ
there's lots or reasons to point to why we lost a close game at home but to me the biggest single reason is the high number of stupid plays we made. Leon Powe is clueless in the playoffs as to who to guard. The Allen brothers go for every pump fake that comes their way. We fouled Billups twice from behind the 3 point line. We let KG guard hamilton on the 3 point line down the stretch etc. How many times do we need to see Perkins called for a moving pick or a stupid ticky tack foul trying to guard a smaller player. Why is he even out there? Or how about Perkins trying to throw no look touch passes into Garnett when he's double teamed? He's done that twice already in this series and a bunch of times in the cleveland series. And what about Posey on that inbounds play down the stretch? james Posey has done nothing now for about 6 straight games. Every since Bill SImmons proclaimed him our best player he has completely disappeared. I still feel we're in this series but we're getting killed by stupid mistakes. we should have won that game last night but for the dumb plays

Way to throw the team under the bus because of a loss. What a frontrunner. Next win you'll be riding their jock again.
I agree we did play stupid in stretches, but to call a 66 win team a "low BBIQ" team is a stretch, even for a "fan" like you.
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

As Myinstabl... said we did play stupid in stretches last night especially on offense we looked like a team playing together for the first time but I wouldnt say we have a low bbiq we just had an off night

It wasn't low BBIQ. It was that the Pistons executed the one game plan that can beat the C's strong-side D. If you swing the ball quickly and can make open long jumpers before the D closes out, you can beat the C's. The Pistons did that. Give em credit, they made shots. They beat us. If they're going to execute like that the whole series, you tip your hat and go home. Somehow I doubt it.

go over to celtic blog and read what they have to say... excatly what I wrote and no I did not read that piece before putting my post on here. I don't see anything wrong with examining the team's flaws, needs etc and I don't think that makes me a non fan for doing so. the only way to get better and to not lose the next game is to correct the mistakes you made in the prior game and my take on the game was that we need to play smarter and be more focused. wemade a ton of stupid fouls and careless plays that cost us the game. that's it in a nutshell. So learn from it and play smarter next time

If the celtics have low IQ then so does rasheed wallace for leaving horry open back in tehf inals that year.
Face it guys make mistakes, you watch tape and correct them.
I see the C's winning as long as they bring thier D
The hawks home losses were weak but that was a tough matchup against a team that themself was better at home.
The Cavs losses, i wouldn't put too much thought into them, Ray Ray is back after all That series is a sweep with ray playing like himself, really.

There's a diffrence between low BBIQ and inexperience. The young guys will learn, Tony's probuly more physically challenged then mentally out there.
Posey has played commendable D and has hit a three pointer. that's his job he did it.
Perk/KG/Baby idk what's going on with the screens, but Perk wasn't foul prone in the regular season this year but is in the playoffs... I attribute the anxiousness to the moving screen revival for Perk and cheap fouls to the atomoshpere of the playoffs. He'll calm down after he becomes experienced.
Everyone has to remeber that 2/5ths of our starting lineup haven't played major minutes in the playoffs before and our Powe/Baby haven't either. These inexperienced plays are why Pruitt is on the bench right now and he's a rookie.
We played great defense last night and 9/10 games we would of come out the winner.

Atlanta at home did a lot of that.

Actually he DOES have low IQ in that aspect; he almost ALWAYS messes up in the clutch. He's also had the final shot and thrown the ball out of bounds for no reason three times, left multiple people open for final shots, bricked bad shots, etc.; when the game is on the line, Sheed's basketball IQ drops to around 12.
Pierce seems to do similar, although not half as bad as Sheed.

I don't know if we can actually blame Davis and Perk on the moving screen many analysts including Tommy have said that its the PG (or other player) that has to wait for the bigs to set themselves and then use the screen instead of doing it as the big guy is setting himself thus the moving screen.
We just didn't take advantage of the opportunities given to us. We ad them in the penalty with like 7 to go in the 3rd and we didn't capitalize on it while when the got us in the penalty the looked to draw fouls and got the calls.
Also to the poster that said that we can't win on the road because we couldn't beat other teams on the road is crazy. Thats saying that we can't win because we haven't won, which is flawed logic, we still have the same possibilities of winning on the road in this series as we had in the past series.

But it's Perk's fault for trying to make the screen work then causing a turnover for the offense by commiting the offense foul. That's what Tommy is getting at. If Rondo doesn't spring free from the screen that's something he should of done but he passing it to the next guy and the offense continues or we get a pick and roll with Perk. These cheap fouls are killers and they are Perk's sole fault in the postseason... he did so well in the regular season avoiding them too
