Well....it could be legit right?

The Lakers were playing like crap and getting dominated in the 1st half.......then they woke up in the second and came back?

That is typical of a team with some rust.

Anyway....had they lost because of that rust just like most spurs fans are not crying that the Spurs were tired....

Should be a good game. Just for the record I am a laker fan but much respect due to the Spurs...I love their veteran presence and they have show that in these playoffs.....I dont take them lightly at all.

Well it is a cliche' thing to say... The Lakers were better in game one. I don't buy the whole rest/rust. It is just something people/media/teams say to make themselves feel better after a loss.

History was against us and we got the monkey off our back. The Hornets are the toughest team we played in the past two playoffs. We won Game 7 because we have been there done that. We had the toughest road to the WCF.

There are Lakers fans who like to hype their team up because they beat Denver and Utah. So what? We phucking kill and pwn Denver and Utah. Just look at last year. We took out Denver in 5 and absolutely dominated Utah in 5.

The Lakers are not going to stop us. They are inexperienced and incapable of playing adequate defense. This is our year. There will always be next year for the Lakers.

I respect your team but we are a much better team than the Hornets. We have a better starting squad and a much much better bench.

Yup, our defense is inadequate as shown in game 2 of this series =)

Good thing we don't need adequate defense to blow our the Spurs. In all seriousness do not underestimate the Lakers. Talking about hyping up a team, a lot of your fans are calling Spurs in 6, when realistically it can end up Lakers in 4.

As I said in the post earlier Spurs cold offense against the Lakers constant consistent offense is too one sided for the Lakers. Top that off with the Lakers playing the type of defense they played in game 2? This series can end up being over in 4 games, not saying it will because I respect the Spurs more than that.

Fact is if I had to but my life on the Lakers or Spurs to win this series I'd go with my team the Lakers without any hesitation.

Everyone is saying game 3 is a must win, do-or-die game for us, duh.

I'll go further and say both game 3 and 4 are the same do-or-die.

Let's go Spurs!

Rattler, you're 100% right. The Lakers can't lose both games or it's a brand new series. I have total respect 4 your team but u know I have to say GO LAKERS

Games 3 & 4 will tell the story. If the Lakers take either of those games stick a fork in it! Check your Spurs dynasty that you have under your location. Spurs have never won on even numbered years. This is 2008! Spurs are defending Champs & we can't take you guys lightly giving up both games 3 & 4 to you guys could prove disasterous. We have to get at least 1. One last question B4 i go. If the Lakers win it all this year we have 4 titles this decade as well so if we repeat & get 5 does that make us the team of the decade? Holla back!

While tonight made me less pessimistic, I'm still not 100% confident. I think the way we limited Kobe tonight is a realistic goal that this team could achieve regularly moving foward in the series.
When Tim Duncan is aggressive like he was tonight. He's just flat out dominant over Pau.
I was a little worried when Kobe started sinking threes midway through the fourth.

We got one. Finally.

We need game 4 to make this a series.

If we lose game 4, I am pessimistic and think that will be the last game in SA this year,

We win game 4 and I have hope. These are must wins for the Spurs just to have some life.

For LA, I think they have to treat game 4 like a must win because you don't want to give life to a dangerous team that finds ways to win ugly if need be. Aside from LA showing some guts and desparation after the 3rdquarter, the Spurs showed in game 1 that if you give them life, they can play at a high level on the road and pull out a win. I think if the Spurs get another shot like that again, I would not count on them fizzling down the stretch again, they'll fight you tooth and Manu's nail.

Beat SA in SA and (barring something crazy) it's over, just a matter of time. SA wins game 4 and we have a best of 3!

Lol about Manu's nail that was great. Well rattler as usual I have nothing to debate with you about, you told it like it is. I'm a little nervous about game 4 because I never thought we'd come out flat knowing it was a must win for you guys I thought you'd have 2 finish us off late if you could, so in saying that I agree it's a must win for both teams. Yeah more so for the Spurs but if we want to keed a strangle hold on the series we have to get it done.

With a spurs win tonight, the defending champs have new life with this thing tied up going back to LA.

Historically in this series, going back to 2003, the home team has always won their 2 games at home, making the series tied up 2-2, setting up for pivotal game 5s in both series, one of which was horry missing a potential game winner after being down 20 in 2003 which the lakers lost, and the other was the infamous fisher 0.4 in 2004 which they won.

Will we see the trend continue this year?

if I had to pick a flaw for Pop, it would definitely be rotational subs..he doesn't do it well IMO..there's no reason Barry shouldn't be playing from last series..if not for Vaughn, it would have to be for the useless Michael Finley..

Horry played too much IMO..Oberto was doing a good job on Odom, there's no need for Horry to play, he just hurts our offense..

Kurt Thomas should have played more IMO, especially last night where we struggled for rebounds..I don't mind having Duncan covering Odom and Thomas on Gasol..I only remember him covering Gasol once..he got burned, but what do you expect? it was just his first try..how's he supposed to get better at guarding him without getting a chance?..

I don't think TD can guard Odom. And I think Pau would just need a few tries to get his timing and burn Thomas with his quickness and length to get his shots easily. That's a lot to give up for possibly improving rebounding.

I think use Oberto on Odom more, sure, he might have an advantage but I can live with that if TD keeps Pau in check. But finish the posessions with rebounding. They are selling out on the offensive glass last night. Bowen, TP, Manu/Fin, those guys need to get to the boards. Last time I checked, Barry was our second best rebounder last night, that can't happen, everyone needs to help.

I think by now everyone show now that we shouldn't play Horry nor Jacque. Barry needs more PT at the point and shooting guard. Udoka is too slow and bulky to guard Kobe. We can't have a team outboard us by such a big amount and expect to win.
