What seems clear is that dominating the Pepsi Pro league is not a Magic path towards minutes. It failed for Diener. Failed for Gortat. And it failed for Redick.

The funny thing about Gortat is he sat on the bench just as long, and got less minutes in the season than JJ. However his attitude was always top notch. you could see the difference when they were on the bench. Gortat should have been given pom-poms!

When his number was called he came up pretty big for us. Which got him post season play and almost assured him a rotation spot. Van Gundy than raved about his work ethic and how much he has steadily improved over this season...

Makes you wonder what Redick is doing in practice. :o

Gortat was getting minutes in the playoffs over Foyle so you will probably see the Magic keep him and waive Foyle.

Possible the real reason Gortat played was because the Magic were lacking big men to play. Battie out, Cook out, Foyle just not cutting it the Magic needed to throw another body into the mix and Augustine just is not a banger so Gortat got the call. Plain and simple, and it still didn't help because the Magic didn't have a really good big banger to help Howard. Another reason for the Magic to get a banger in the draft.
John Denton said that every practice he went to Redick was working harder then the other two SG's. So practice wasn't the problem. And he also said that Redick stayed after practice working on his shot and other things.
So Redick was willing to put the long hours to improve his game.
Hopefully it will pan out this coming season all that hard work if it doesn't then either there is a problem that we don't know about or he just isn't the kind of player SVG wants. And if that is the case then Redick needs to be traded.
We shall see this off season won't we.
