I have no interest if they are asking for someone big, we could do Jackson + Brooks + Head for 13th and someone like Jack + Outlaw, maybe extras.

It would still be very quality players left at 13:

Jordan
Gordon
McGee
Augustine
Westbrook
Hibbert
Budinger

But would they be worth giving up the necessary pieces?

They'll want Scola or Battier to move down to 25. And I can't think of any body who'll be available at 13 to justify that. If they'd do it for anybody in the Brooks/Head/Jackson/Francis/Novak group....pull the trigger.

But they won't let it go for that....or they shouldn't, at least.

Depends on who is there but I will trade Battier for them for these following players:Eric Gordon , Russel Westbrook , Joe Alexander , Jerryd Baylles (No chance he is there though).

They would be interested in Aaron Brooks. They want a PG & the Oregon connection. There would be the definitely some interest, enough to pry #13? I don't know. But the only player I want in this draft not named Michael beasley or Derrick Rose is really Eric Gordon,

Guys no way they even consider Brooks , at 13 they can pick wither Augustin or Westbrook for sure who are signifcant upgrades.
They won't trade the pick for young talent because they can get better young talent with the pick.
If they trade it , it's to get a vet.

They'd love Battier, and if Rockets thought they were in a bit more of a rebuild mode could get some nice young players.
More likely Portland will need to clear some roster space if they feel Fernandez is coming over. And they have 3 Pgs,plus wanting Roy to play more point. And the Rockets would be pretty sure the guy they hope falls to 25 will be there at 13.So...
The #25,next yrs First and the $2.5mil TE to Portland for Jack or Rodriguez, the #13 and the 33 or 36.
The Rockets now have 5 pgs so they do the unthinkable-
Jackson,Francis,Novak,$3mil cash to Milwaukee for Walker. After recovering from your hysterical laughter, let me give my reasoning.
Walker has 1 yr left as does Jackson, and could use him to trade for a player w/a contract between $7mil and $11.6mil at the deadline. The team shaves almost 1/2 mil off payroll which is a consideration, and if there is no interest in trading him any buyout saves more. More important it frees up a roster spot.
Yao,Motumbo
Scola,Hayes,Landry
Battier,Rush
McGrady,Head
Alston,Jack/Rodriguez,Brooks
That is 12 players, leaving room for a FA,the Second Rd project and even Green or Walker.
(Milwaukee because they unload Walker, pocket $2.5mil and in Novak have local kid for fans to stay around for in blowouts.)

This is looking interesting and workable to me. I think the rockets benefits even if with only the portland's trade. However, getting rush for the #13 pick?.. think if rocket did get the #13 pick, they can selected better player than Rush though Rush will be great at #25 pick.

The Blazers would want more than just Brooks for the 13th pick.

Are you serious?

You really think the draft is that weak?

What about Mayo and Lopez?

We acquired Battier with our 7th pick and Stromile Swift. I am pretty sure we can get the 13th pick with Battier alone, but I wouldn't want to see this happen.

We aquired Battier for our 8th pick. His trade value was up back then. I dont know if a team would do a top 13 pick for Battier alone.

13 is not a top ten pick, but I don't think Battier alone would get the 13th pick either.

Brooks for 13th is a good deal

sorry but Brooks will not make it far in the NBA, I see him getting traded to europe or somewhere outside the US

his size is his biggest weakness

I dont think he will be that bad. I see him as a career backup, similar to Earl Boykins.

Brooks will certnaily have a job in the nba as a backup pg or at least 3rd string.
He has talent , the biggest knock on his this year wasn't his defense.
It was the fact that he was supposed to be a very good , or even great shooter so he took a lot of 3's.
He has shown flashes but has been very disappointing in that depratment for me.
It probably affected his confidence a lot too.
If he can be a 38% shooter from 3 like he was in college he will be in this league for many years.

Who knows it tooks Sasha Vujacic , and Linas Kleiza time before their shot really started to fall , maybe Brooks will be the same.
