AI should opt out and go to Houston

Post#1 » by guy1 » Sat May 24, 2008 8:34 pm

What do you all think of this? AI would be much better on a more disciplined team and more disciplined teammates. I think he would be better with T-mac instead of Melo, cause T-mac doesn't need to score to be effective. And this would be great for Houston. With AI, they wouldn't have to worry as much about injuries ruining their chances with Yao and/or T-mac getting injured, cause they'll usually have at least 2 star players. AI is much more durable.

Dallas? Orlando? Any mid tier team could be great with his addition. I wonder if he'll take the pay cut.

If pistons don't win it all this year, maybe he could go there if he opts out and then sign/traded to detroit for either billups or hamilton?

Yea but I think he would have a much better shot at winning a title in Houston, and he wouldn't have to hold back his game as much then in Dallas or Orlando.

TMac is ball dominant and AI doesn't mix well with Yao because AI isn't a shooter.

What Houston needs is a legit 3rd option that can shoot like Mike Miller.

Can Houston even offer him more than the MLE? I don't see AI as someone willing to take that big of a paycut.

What?
Why Detroit?
Where did *that* come from?

It would have to be for Billups, though.
Iverson/Stuckey
Hamilton/Stuckey
Iverson needs big guards next to him to be effective. Anthony Carter is NOT the solution.

Houston does need a legit 3rd option, someone like Rudy Gay would be great!

You nailed it right on the head. We need a perimeter shooter to help those two and Miller would be the perfect fit.

AI would not gell with Yao.

It might be a little better fit than Denver, but not a lot. I still say that the thing that all of the places AI would fit worst in have in common is that they all of a volume perimeter scorer already.

If I was AI and they didn't get rid of Carmela I would go to Orlando.

nowhere in particular, i was just basing it on the fact that detroit might need to make changes if they dont win the championship this year with the current group, and joe dumars has already showed he will attempt to trade for allen iverson in the past.

AI could fit in almost anywhere and make the team exceptionally better except in Denver. He really made a mistake going there. I would suggest that he goes to a team like Houston, Orlando, Sacramento, Clippers, or New Jersey.

As a nuggets fan, get ai out of denver IMO. His playstyle doesn't contribute to winning championships period and his presence on our team has not improved our team, period. I respect the man and how good he has been considering his size limitations but he just simply does not play winning basketball and he never really has.

Get Hinrich in Denver, then AI and Melo will look terrific together.

AI in houston wouldnt make much sense, and seems impossible salary wise. Unless he took 5 mill per season. Which is ridiculous.
