1. Kobe

2. T-mac
3. Iverson
4. Wade

5a. Ray Allen
5b. Vince Carter

How the hell can you say Vince over T-mac? T-mac, media darling? Do you even watch TV? The media is all over McGrady for not being able to get out of the first round and they forget all the other things hes does for his team. Ill put Ray Allen over Vince because he has actually been more consistent than Vince.

I was looking back at your post and looking at who you put as your top 5, and it seemed right that Carter should be there, but Ray Allen(which I didn't see before, stuck out like a sore thumb), so I just realized this Carter-McGrady thing has been useless while this whole time it was all Allen's fault.

Haha, indeed.

McGrady is definitely a better player than Allen, and probably a better player than Vince. But I'd rather have those two guys on my team. That's probably where the discrepancy in our thinking came from.

On another note, "media darling" probably wasn't the term I'm looking for. Among NBA geeks (including forumers like us, some media, some bassketball personnel) it seems like McGrady is generally more well-liked than Carter. I feel like the media as a whole has gone from ripping TarMac's first round failures to feeling bad for him in general.

Carter hasn't done ANYTHING, no MVP's, no post season success, no historic seasons, does he even have any all NBA first teams?

When a guy named Kobe is playing in the same era, one should not be suprised Carter has no first team appearances.. That shouldn't even be a knock on Carter.. I don't understand the dislike for the guy, he's a great player, a 24ppg career scorer, one of the best rebounding SG's.. I mean honestly, where does the hate come from? Because he didn't turn out as good as MJ?
