Presti 2007 Post Draft Strategy

Post#1 » by sonictecture » Sun May 25, 2008 12:24 am

Does any one else remember the 2007 post draft strategy that Presti discussed?

Durant and Green had just been drafted and Presti was stating that he was still very much interested in resigning Rashard Lewis and envisioned all three players in the same lineup.

If the above strategy was more than blustering to the media in the hopes of holding onto an asset, then isn't it possible that Presti could continue to look for a "Lewis type" player in the draft or via trade?

Sonic Texture, I am glad to see that you've returned after your long hiatus. It is good to know that our moderators are still interested in the team.

You are right that it is possible. Yet, I think it was probably no more than, as you put it, a "blustering to the media in the hopes of holding onto an asset". Besides, I do not think that Durant, Green and Lewis would have played very well together. But, I might ask, do you have a particular "Lewis type player" in mind?

Charlie Villanueva might be the closest, rumored to be available match skill wise. I admit to being concerned about his maturity and dedication. Randolph, Galinari, Arthur and Green could all be candidates in this years draft.

I would be dissapointed if the 3 forward strategy was little more than a ploy.
