Lol @ some of you kings fans, I couldn't help but comment. Some of you seem to think that Artest is Kobe or something that you'd be "willing to give him up ONLY if Bosh was involved"?? Ron Artest?? Are we sure we are talking about RonRon? Lol. I don't understand why Bosh is even in these conversations. Any discussions involving Bosh, I'd hang up the phone... fly over, and slap you.

Anyways, in MY opinion, I'd give up T.J + 17th pick for Artest, that's a fair deal for BOTH teams, if you insist on Jose, then I'd remove the 17th pick, and add in some filler(s).

You must of misunderstood something because noone believes that we could get CB for Ron Artest. Whoever said that I could almost guarantee they mean that any other player on the Raptors roster does not warrant Ron Artest (Ford, Calderon, etc). We are not saying Ron Artest's value is the likes of Chris Bosh, but its not Ford or Calderon either (For our team's situation). Those are good players, but not game changers. We do not expect Chris Bosh.

EDIT: Kinginexile- "I would be interested in Artest for Bosh. Other than that...there would have to be some other damn good incentives for me to move him in a deal with Toronto"

All you saw was "I would be interested in Artest for Bosh." Does the bold part not imply that the kings and raptors just are not good trading partners? It should...

Well, maybe that's because you lack the mental capacity to comprehend the English language.

If this is your attitude, fine...now go away.

Lol, oh... I feel "insulted". I see you're one of the fella who has a hard on for Artest to suggest that you'd only let him go if Bosh was involved, eh? I see. Anyways, off I go away in wind.

Or maybe I am not thrilled by anyone on Toronto's roster other than Bosh. Obviously you can't grasp such a concept so it is better that you are "gone in the wind".

I agree with KIE to an extent on this issue..looking at the two Rosters I'd say in terms of value it'd go..

Bosh

Martin/Artest

then a long drop off in talent in both the Raps and Kings with Calderon/Salmons/Hawes/Ford as the next grouping of valuables from each team's assets.

Basically what is being said is, Ron's not worth moving for anyone on the Raptors roster minus Bosh. Meaning there's no point in us settling for lesser talent.

Noone here has said Ron is actually worth Bosh, just that we wouldn't want to move him for anything less.

Personally I'd deal Ron/#12 for Bosh recognizing that Bosh has more value than Ron. I doubt Raptors would still do that, but you get the idea of what I'm talking about.

In no way am I undervaluing the likes of Calderon. He has a very bright future, but in my opinion, Beno would be the smarter choice because their abilities are extremely similar and we could obviously hold on to Beno for a much cheaper price. If anything it is a lateral move at point guard. Another first round pick is intriguing, but in no way does it justify getting rid of Artest. The only thing that intrigues me about TJ Ford is his speed. I would love a point guard with exceptional quickness to pair with kevin in the backcourt. I think it would be a deadly combination and would give us another dimension to help us win ballgames. There are an abundance of lighting quick PG's to be had in the future, so the risk of Ford is a little too much for me. For the most part, it seems the majority believe that the raps and kings are not good trading partners.

I'd take Ford if it cost us Salmons/filler.

Thats a fair trade for both teams, I like it. I do not know Ford's contract situation, but value wise it is worthwhile for both. Calderon gets his starting spot (who is a better fit anyway for the raps) and we get rid of our logjam opening up more playing time for Cisco and Douby.

No they're not. Beno has a very mediocre assist/TO ratio for a PG whereas Calderon's is insane.

I was more trying to get at the fact we could have Beno on a better contract...

No their stats are not the same. Calderon's assist to turnover ratio is crazy, but I think that Beno does bring the same style of play (with better scoring abilities) and can do for us what JC did for the raps. He takes care of the ball rather well, so I can see him putting up similar numbers, while he continues to improve.

Beno will never be as good a passer or point as Jose is.

Agreed, but Beno's not bad either and I think overall he's probably a slightly better 'scorer'. Although Calderon isn't a slouch there either.

Calderon is a better pure shooter, but Beno is a dang good scorer.

Beno's crafty and I'd have to say between Beno, Martin, Salmons we may have 3 of the best mid-range jump shooters in the league.

Raps are not trading TJ for anything less than Artest. We'll throw our pick in it OR take a bad contract for exprings. Trading Jose for Artest would work if Artest were to agree to sign an extension. All these Salmon for Ford deals are going nowhere. We'd rather just hold on to Ford if we're going to get that and trade away Jose.

I am not opposed to letting beno go if we go another direction thru the draft or w.e, but am I the only one who thinks that he will improve drastically with his PG leadership. Like Jose, when Beno has the ball he is in command, exactly what a PG is for.I just see him continuing to get better at running a team, hence the comparisons to Jose Calderon.

I just could see Beno getting signed at a fair price and then will be one of the bargain contracts around the league...Just like Artest or Salmons as a starter...

Enjoy Maggette then. Kings aren't trading Artest for anything less than a bonafide #1 option, because that IS what Ron is for our team.

Future 1st? Not even this years? Sorry but that offer's not close. We've already established pretty much that Ron by himself=TJ+17th pick(or whatever pick you have). Miller is worth more than Rasho and Kapono IMO.
